Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities

  • Serves as enterprise owner of Google Tag Manager (GTM), Google Analytics 4 (GA4), and Quantum Metric, ensuring all deployments align with legal, compliance, and governance requirements.
  • Designs and implements custom GTM tags, dataLayer configurations, and advanced tracking solutions including Single-Page Application (SPA), mobile, and progressive web tracking.
  • Applies expert technical skills in JavaScript, HTML, CSS, and Regular Expressions for tag customization, DOM manipulation, and HTTP request/response integration.
  • Leads GA4 implementation and configuration including property setup, data streams, cross-domain tracking, custom dimensions, event tracking, and eCommerce tracking.
  • Manages GTM version control and deployment through GitHub and CI/CD pipelines via Concourse, ensuring structured audits and automated, governed deployments.
  • Configures Google Consent Mode (GCM v1 and v2) via GTM and administers TrustArc for privacy policy enforcement, PII compliance, and consent-based tracking management.
  • Writes complex SQL queries and manages large datasets in BigQuery; ingests and integrates data into Snowflake ensuring data integrity across systems.
  • Builds dynamic dashboards and visualizations using Tableau and Looker Studio aligned with business objectives and stakeholder reporting needs.
  • Partners with program managers, project managers, and cross-functional teams to gather requirements, define KPIs, and develop comprehensive measurement and analytics strategies.
  • Leads the analysis of complex business issues and defines requirements to design analytics solutions aligned with strategic organizational goals.
  • Establishes and enforces naming conventions for GTM tags, triggers, variables, GA4 events, and parameters to ensure consistency and scalability across the enterprise.
  • Develops comprehensive end-user documentation and delivers expert-level training to ensure successful adoption and optimal use of analytics tools and systems.
  • Oversees and monitors critical project milestones, phases, and elements to ensure timely, budget-compliant delivery and alignment with project objectives.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Information Technology, Computer Science or a related field.

Experience: Generally, a minimum of 14 years of related experience that includes experience in designing, implementing, testing, debugging, documenting, and maintaining analytics and tag management solutions, or configuring and using analytics software in a business setting. Required proficiency in GTM, GA4, JavaScript, SQL, BigQuery, Snowflake, Tableau, Looker Studio, Google Consent Mode, and Consent Management Platforms

Scope of Job/Qualifications: Provides advanced analytics requirements guidance to program managers, project managers, and cross-functional project teams. Participates in all phases of the analytics implementation lifecycle. Makes recommendations for best practices and introduces new techniques and tools to the analytics practice. Exhibits expert knowledge of tag management, digital analytics, data integration, and privacy compliance with a high level of understanding of the organization’s business and technology operations. Expert-level analytical skills with the ability to gather and analyze data to drive decision-making. Viewed as a subject matter expert on the team and in the organization. Provides technical advice and support on analytics tools, implementation approaches, and data governance.
