AI Summary

Develop a bespoke blockchain from the ground up, focusing on protocol-level code for consensus, execution, and networking. Build end-to-end dApps including secure smart contracts, backend infrastructure, and frontend user interfaces.

About Us

We’re a digital entertainment company creating engaging online platforms people love. Since 2021, we’ve been building something different. Our brands include MetaWin, WOW Vegas, BetZoo Media, Hit.com and Rolla, with more to come.

With teams in London, Malta, Gibraltar and Miami (launching 2025), each platform is designed to deliver unique, engaging, and innovative digital experiences. From immersive betting platforms to exciting casino games and interactive online entertainment, our brands deliver cutting-edge technology and user-focused design.

Arena prioritises innovative technology, decentralised where possible, and builds with an AI-first mindset. Not constrained by legacy systems, we are blue sky thinkers changing the landscape of digital entertainment.

Overview

We’re building a brand new, fully bespoke blockchain from the ground up. Not a fork. Not a clone. Every component — consensus, execution, networking, tooling — is being designed and written in-house. This is greenfield infrastructure engineering at its most ambitious.

We need an AI-native, product-minded Full Stack Blockchain Engineer to join the core team. You’ll be building and shipping blockchain-powered products end-to-end: from the protocol layer and smart contracts through to backend infra and frontend UX. Our work spans gaming, DeFi and other emerging Web3 categories.

This is a hands-on role for someone who lives and breathes Web3, ships fast, and embraces AI-powered development to stay ahead. We’re especially excited about builders who already have real on-chain projects under their belt and a hunger to grow fast.

Responsibilities

  • Build dApps end-to-end: design and deploy secure, gas-efficient smart contracts; wire up backend infrastructure; deliver clean frontends that hide blockchain complexity

  • Contribute to core chain development: write protocol-level code in Rust, C++ and Python across consensus, execution and networking layers

  • Ship products, not just code: collaborate on design, UX and incentive mechanics, contributing to product decisions as much as technical implementation

  • Leverage AI daily: use the latest tools to accelerate development and broaden problem-solving approaches

  • Build and maintain indexing infrastructure, APIs and real-time data pipelines

  • Experiment and innovate: stay curious with new standards, chains and techniques, from cross-chain deployments to tokenomics design

  • Represent the team at hackathons and conferences and share your work with the ecosystem

Technical Stack

This is a bespoke, ground-up chain. No forks, no shortcuts. The stack reflects that.

Core Chain — Bespoke Protocol Layer

Systems: Rust | C++ | CUDA (GPU acceleration)

Scripting / Automation: Python | Shell

All protocol components, consensus mechanisms, execution environments and networking are written in-house. Familiarity with low-level systems programming, memory safety and performance optimisation is essential.

Smart Contracts

Languages: Solidity (EVM)

Standards: ERC-20, ERC-721, EIP-4337 and modern extensions

Tooling: Foundry | Hardhat

Frontend

Languages: TypeScript | JavaScript

Frameworks: React | Next.js | Node.js

Web3 Libraries

Libraries: viem | wagmi | Privy | Dynamic | Across SDK

Infrastructure

Indexing: The Graph | Ponder | custom indexers

APIs: REST | GraphQL

Other: Cross-chain bridges | RPCs

Bonus: Anchor (Solana/SVM) | Move (Aptos/Sui) | MEV | ZK proofs

Candidate Profile

  • 1–4 years of blockchain/Web3 development with at least one meaningful on-chain deployment (professional, side project or hackathon)

  • Solid foundation in Solidity and TypeScript, with the ability to deliver complete products, not just isolated code

  • Comfort working at the systems level: Rust and C++ experience is a strong advantage given our bespoke chain focus

  • AI-native: daily use of modern coding assistants (Claude, Cursor, Copilot, Windsurf, etc.)

  • Product sense: proven ability to think about usability and user experience, not just code correctness

  • Previous experience at a blue-chip protocol or well-known project highly valued

  • Hackathon experience or open source contributions a strong plus

  • Strong English communication skills for async collaboration

Location

Remote. Async-first culture with overlapping working hours where possible.

What We Value

  • Growth mindset

  • Curiosity, adaptability and eagerness to learn

  • Strong in code, sharp on product

  • A track record of building: shipped protocols, hackathon projects or ambitious side hustles
