Blender Technical Artist — Remote Contract

Apply here: quarrybuild.com/apply

Overview

Strong 3D work combines visual judgment with a project that makes sense beneath the surface. Materials, lighting, geometry, and organization all matter when a scene needs to be edited, rendered, and built on by someone else.

As a Blender Artist on Quarrybuild, you’ll create original scenes, assets, and other 3D work for paid contracts. Projects draw on both your artistic skills and your ability to build clean, editable source files, supporting research into AI and creative software.

What you’ll do

• Create original 3D work. Build scenes, models, materials, or animations with a clear visual direction and attention to detail.
• Bring technical craft to your process. Use structured workflows, procedural tools, or scripting where the project calls for them.
• Deliver editable, reliable projects. Organize source files, check your renders, explain your approach, and incorporate review feedback.

Roles this fits

Blender artists, 3D generalists, environment artists, technical artists, and procedural artists.

What we look for

• Hands-on Blender experience and a portfolio demonstrating finished 3D work.
• A strong foundation in modeling, materials, lighting, and composition, with depth in at least one area.
• The ability to create organized, editable Blender files and troubleshoot rendering or dependency issues.
• Experience with Blender Python or Geometry Nodes is especially helpful; some contracts require scripting or procedural workflows.
• Clear written communication and the ability to work independently, explain your process, and respond to feedback.
• A computer capable of running Blender and rendering your work.
