AI Summary

The Practice Lead will own the P&L, growth strategy, and team development for the Business Central practice while managing recruitment and partner relationships. Additionally, they will serve as a lead consultant or solution architect on client engagements, balancing billable delivery with leadership duties.

One of Pine's portfolio companies is a nationally recognized ERP consulting firm and proud Microsoft partner helping mid-market businesses leverage cloud-based solutions to drive growth, scalability, and operational efficiency. They're looking for a Business Central Practice Lead to build, grow, and run their Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central consulting practice.

This is a player-coach role: the successful candidate will set practice strategy, develop the team, and support sales while remaining hands-on with client delivery. Approximately 50% of their time will be billable on client engagements, with the remainder dedicated to practice leadership, team development, and pre-sales support. The role reports to the COO and partners closely with Sales, Microsoft, and ISV partners.

This is a full-time remote role.

What You'll Do

Practice Leadership (~50%)

  • Own the P&L, utilization targets, and growth strategy for the Business Central practice.
  • Recruit, mentor, and manage a team of BC consultants, developers, and functional leads.
  • Define delivery methodology, quality standards, and best practices across engagements.
  • Partner with Sales on pre-sales activities: scoping, estimating, proposal development, and client presentations.
  • Build and maintain relationships with Microsoft and ISV partners.
  • Monitor industry trends and evolve the practice's service offerings and accelerators accordingly.
  • Report on practice KPIs — utilization, margin, pipeline, and customer satisfaction — to leadership.

Client Delivery (~50% Billable)

  • Serve as solution architect or lead consultant on active Business Central implementations and upgrades.
  • Lead discovery and requirements-gathering sessions with client stakeholders.
  • Design and oversee configuration, customization, and integration solutions within Business Central.
  • Guide clients through process re-engineering, data migration, and go-live readiness.
  • Act as an escalation point for complex technical or functional issues on client projects.
  • Ensure engagements are delivered on time, on budget, and to a high standard.

What They're Looking For

Required

  • 7+ years of experience implementing Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central (or Dynamics NAV) in a consulting environment.
  • 2+ years in a leadership, practice management, or team lead capacity.
  • Proven experience balancing billable delivery with practice-building responsibilities.
  • Strong grasp of BC core modules (Finance, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, or similar) and common integration patterns.
  • Experience with pre-sales: scoping, SOWs, level-of-effort estimation, and proposal writing.
  • Excellent client-facing communication skills and executive presence.
  • Experience managing practice financials — utilization, margin, and revenue targets.

Nice to Have

  • Microsoft certifications such as MB-800 (Business Central Functional Consultant) or MB-700 (Solution Architect).
  • Experience developing repeatable accelerators, IP, or industry-specific BC service offerings.
  • Experience working within the Microsoft and ISV partner ecosystem.
