Salary Range: 

• Mid-Level: $120,000–$130,000 
  

• Expert Level: $170,000–$180,000 
  

Position Overview 

Our client is seeking multiple Azure Infrastructure Administrators, ranging from mid-level to expert-level, to support a Department of Veterans Affairs program. 

These positions will provide hands-on administration, engineering, automation, monitoring, and troubleshooting of enterprise Microsoft Azure cloud infrastructure. Administrators will work closely with cloud engineering, architecture, cybersecurity, application, and operations teams to maintain secure, reliable, scalable, and highly available environments. 

Candidates will be considered at different levels based on their technical expertise, relevant experience, certifications, and ability to independently manage increasingly complex Azure infrastructure responsibilities. 

Key Responsibilities 

• Administer, configure, monitor, maintain, and troubleshoot Microsoft Azure infrastructure and cloud resources. 
  

• Provision and manage Azure compute resources, including Virtual Machines, managed disks, availability options, and supporting services. 
  

• Administer Azure storage services, including storage accounts, Azure Files, managed disks, backup, and recovery capabilities. 
  

• Configure and manage Azure networking, including VNets, subnets, NSGs, private endpoints, routing, load balancing, and connectivity. 
  

• Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) solutions using Terraform or comparable technologies. 
  

• Automate infrastructure provisioning, configuration, deployment, and operational processes. 
  

• Support Microsoft Entra ID and Azure RBAC, including identity and access management. 
  

• Monitor infrastructure performance, availability, capacity, and security and proactively address potential issues. 
  

• Troubleshoot complex cloud infrastructure incidents, perform root-cause analysis, and implement corrective actions. 
  

• Support backup, disaster recovery, business continuity, patching, and infrastructure resiliency requirements. 
  

• Support cloud governance, security, configuration management, and change management activities. 
  

• Develop and maintain technical documentation, infrastructure diagrams, configuration standards, and operational procedures. 
  

• Collaborate with cloud architects, engineers, cybersecurity teams, application teams, and other technical stakeholders. 
  

• Provide technical guidance and mentoring to less-experienced administrators at senior/expert levels. 
  

Required Qualifications 

Mid-Level 

• 6+ years of applicable professional experience. 
  

• Bachelor’s degree 
  

• Hands-on experience administering Microsoft Azure infrastructure in an enterprise environment. 
  

• Experience with Azure compute, storage, networking, identity, and infrastructure management. 
  

• Experience with Azure Virtual Machines, networking, storage, and backup/recovery. 
  

• Working knowledge of Microsoft Entra ID and Azure RBAC. 
  

• Experience with Terraform or other Infrastructure as Code technologies. 
  

• Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills. 
  

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills. 
  

• 15+ years of applicable professional experience. 
  

• Bachelor’s degree 
  

• Extensive hands-on experience designing, administering, engineering, and supporting enterprise Azure environments. 
  

• Advanced expertise across Azure compute, storage, networking, identity, security, automation, and resiliency.
  

• Strong experience with Terraform/IaC and infrastructure automation.
  

• Demonstrated experience troubleshooting complex cloud infrastructure issues and performing root-cause analysis. 
  

• Strong understanding of cloud security, governance, disaster recovery, high availability, and business continuity. 
  

• Ability to provide technical leadership and mentor less-experienced team members.
