Manage and oversee regulatory reporting activities for the bank across UAE and overseas jurisdictions to ensure accuracy and compliance. Lead automation and digitization initiatives to enhance reporting efficiency, data quality, and governance frameworks.
Job Purpose
To manage and oversee regulatory reporting activities for the bank for UAE / overseas branch jurisdictions, ensuring accuracy, completeness, timeliness, and compliance with applicable regulatory standards. The role is responsible for maintaining a strong control environment around regulatory submissions, driving issue resolution, coordinating with internal and external stakeholders, and supporting strategic regulatory and reporting initiatives. The role also supports automation, digitization, data transformation, and AI-enabled initiatives aimed at enhancing reporting efficiency, scalability, data quality, and governance across the regulatory reporting function.
Key Result Areas
Manage preparation, review, and submission of regulatory reports for UAE / overseas branches / SCA / DFSA / Subsidiaries / Islamic banking within prescribed timelines, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and compliance with applicable regulatory requirements.
Manage reporting related to Basel regulatory requirements including Capital Adequacy Ratio (CAR), Liquidity Coverage Ratio (LCR), Net Stable Funding Ratio (NSFR), Leverage Ratio, large exposure reporting, and other prudential and statistical returns.
Ensure compliance with Central Bank regulations, regulatory requirements, and internal governance standards.
Maintain a strong control environment around regulatory reporting processes, including reconciliations, validations, data quality checks, governance controls, and supporting documentation.
Coordinate with Finance, Risk, Treasury, Operations, Compliance, Technology, and overseas branch teams to ensure integrity and consistency of regulatory reporting data.
Monitor and assess impact of new regulatory requirements, business changes, and financial transactions on regulatory reporting obligations.
Drive timely resolution of reporting issues, reconciliation breaks, data inconsistencies, regulatory queries, and audit observations.
Support Central Bank examinations, regulatory reviews, internal audits, and external audits by coordinating responses, providing reporting analysis, and ensuring timely closure of observations and action items.
Review and enhance reporting methodologies, assumptions, mapping logic, and reporting processes to ensure alignment with regulatory expectations and best practices.
Lead and support automation, digitization, and AI-enabled initiatives aimed at improving reporting efficiency, scalability, controls, and data quality.
Support implementation and enhancement of regulatory reporting systems, dashboards, reconciliation tools, and data governance frameworks.
Identify opportunities for process optimization, standardization, and strengthening of reporting governance across UAE and overseas reporting environments.
Provide reporting analysis, insights, and updates to senior management and relevant governance forums.
Contribute to regulatory reporting transformation initiatives and continuous improvement programs across the bank.

Operates within a highly regulated banking environment with responsibility for ensuring timely, accurate, and compliant regulatory reporting across UAE and overseas jurisdictions. The role functions within established regulatory frameworks, governance standards, delegated authorities, internal control requirements, and bank policies while supporting a strong control environment around regulatory submissions, reconciliations, issue resolution, and data governance.
The role requires close coordination with Finance, Risk, Treasury, Operations, Compliance, Technology, Data Governance, Internal Audit, overseas branches, regulators, and external auditors to manage reporting obligations, regulatory queries, system enhancements, automation, digitization, and AI-enabled reporting initiatives. The position is expected to exercise sound professional judgment, manage competing priorities under tight timelines, identify process improvement opportunities, and contribute to strengthening reporting governance, operational efficiency, and regulatory compliance across the bank.
Problem Solving
Investigate and resolve complex reporting issues, reconciliation breaks, data inconsistencies, and regulatory interpretation matters.
Analyze root causes of reporting variances and implement sustainable corrective actions.
Assess impact of new products, transactions, regulatory updates, and organizational changes on reporting obligations.
Evaluate process inefficiencies and recommend control enhancements and technology-driven solutions.
Escalate material reporting issues and regulatory risks appropriately while proposing practical remediation plans.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance reporting accuracy, controls, operational resilience, and process efficiency.
Decision Making Authority & Responsibility
Review and approve regulatory reporting outputs prior to submission in line with delegated authority.
Exercise judgment on reporting interpretations, materiality assessments, control exceptions, and issue escalation.
Recommend enhancements to reporting frameworks, governance standards, controls, automation opportunities, and reporting processes.
Coordinate prioritization of reporting deliverables, issue resolution, regulatory commitments, and transformation initiatives.
Support senior management in managing regulatory reporting risk, governance, and compliance obligations.
Act as a key point of contact for regulatory reporting matters across relevant jurisdictions.
Contribute to strategic decisions relating to reporting transformation, automation, digitization, AI adoption, and process optimization initiatives.
Knowledge, Skills and Experience
Chartered Accountant with 13 -15 years of relevant banking experience, preferably within regulatory reporting, finance control, financial reporting, or banking finance functions.
Experience dealing with regulators, auditors, and cross-functional stakeholders.
Experience in large banking environments with complex reporting structures and regulatory requirements.
Knowledge of prudential regulations, capital adequacy, liquidity reporting, and regulatory governance.
Understanding of banking products, treasury activities, risk concepts, and financial control processes.
Exposure to reporting automation, data transformation, analytics, or AI-enabled reporting environments is preferred.
Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
Ability to interpret regulations and translate requirements into reporting processes and system requirements.
Strong attention to detail with a control-oriented mindset.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and work under tight regulatory timelines.
