Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced Personal Injury Lawyer with a strong background in handling personal injury matters within New South Wales (NSW), Australia.

The ideal candidate will be a mid-level lawyer with practical experience managing personal injury claims and a strong understanding of NSW-specific personal injury legislation, procedures, and compensation frameworks. The successful candidate should be comfortable managing matters with a high degree of independence, drafting legal documents, conducting legal research, communicating with clients and stakeholders, and supporting matters throughout the claims and litigation process.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage and support a portfolio of personal injury matters within the NSW jurisdiction.

  • Provide legal advice and support across personal injury claims in accordance with relevant NSW legislation and procedures.

  • Draft, review, and prepare legal documents, correspondence, pleadings, settlement documentation, and other case materials.

  • Review medical evidence, expert reports, damages documentation, and other evidence relevant to personal injury claims.

  • Conduct legal research into relevant NSW legislation, case law, and procedural requirements.

  • Develop and support case strategies in collaboration with senior lawyers and other members of the legal team.

  • Liaise professionally with clients, insurers, medical professionals, experts, opposing counsel, and other stakeholders.

  • Assist with negotiations and settlement processes and prepare matters for mediation, hearings, or litigation where required.

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date matter records, deadlines, correspondence, and documentation using Actionstep.

  • Manage competing deadlines and caseload priorities while maintaining a high level of accuracy and client service.

Qualifications:

  • Undergraduate degree in Law and appropriate legal qualification.

  • Mid-level professional experience in personal injury law, ideally with approximately 3–5 years of relevant experience.

  • Demonstrated experience handling personal injury matters in New South Wales, Australia.

  • Strong understanding of NSW personal injury law, relevant legislation, claims processes, and compensation frameworks.

  • Experience drafting legal correspondence, pleadings, settlement documents, and other personal injury documentation.

  • Strong legal research, analytical, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.

  • Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.

  • Strong client-management skills and the ability to communicate effectively with clients and external stakeholders.

  • Highly organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to manage multiple active matters and deadlines.

  • Experience using Actionstep is highly desirable.

  • Ability to work independently in a remote setting while collaborating effectively with a distributed legal team.
