Job Title: Automation Specialist

Location: South Africa

Job Type: Full-Time, Remote

Working Hours: US Hours (9am-5pm EST)

Salary: South African Rand (ZAR)

We are looking for a proactive and technically skilled Automation Specialist to streamline business operations through workflow automation and system integrations. You will analyse existing processes, identify opportunities for automation, and design scalable solutions that improve efficiency, reduce manual work, and enhance data accuracy across the business.

The ideal candidate will have experience with API integrations, workflow automation platforms, AI tools, and low-code/no-code solutions, with the ability to work across multiple departments to deliver innovative automation solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Analyse current business processes and workflows to identify inefficiencies, bottlenecks, and opportunities for automation.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to understand operational challenges and recommend automation solutions.
  • Document existing and future-state workflows.
  • Design, develop, and implement scalable workflow automation solutions using automation platforms, APIs, scripts, and AI-powered tools.
  • Build automated workflows that improve productivity and reduce manual intervention.
  • Configure automations to support business operations across multiple departments.
  • Develop and maintain API integrations between business systems and third-party applications.
  • Connect software platforms and databases to enable seamless data flow.
  • Configure webhooks and integration logic to ensure reliable communication between systems.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve integration issues.
  • Monitor automation workflows to ensure optimal performance.
  • Investigate and resolve automation failures, bugs, and system errors.
  • Perform regular maintenance, testing, and updates to existing automations.
  • Continuously optimise workflows to improve efficiency and scalability.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation for workflows, integrations, and automation processes.
  • Train users on newly implemented automations where required.
  • Provide ongoing support and recommendations for continuous process improvement.

Requirements

  • Experience with workflow automation and system integrations.
  • Knowledge of API integrations and webhooks.
  • Experience using ClickUp, Make (Integromat), and n8n.
  • Familiarity with AI tools such as ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, or Microsoft Copilot.
  • Strong problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and work independently.
  • Relevant experience in automation, systems integration, or a related IT field.
