McGraw Hill, the leading provider of digital and print educational resources, is looking for an Associate Instructional Designer, Math (K-5) for our School division. As an Associate Instructional Designer, Math (K-5), you will be a valuable member of a collaborative group of Instructional Designers, closely partnering with teams focused on content, product management, UX, and creative media. As part of this team, you will create robust digital tools, curriculum and learning solutions in a variety of formats that are used by millions of educators and students every day. The Associate Instructional Designer, Math (K-5) is a digital savvy content and curriculum expert, responsible and accountable for assembling high-quality content based on specific product requirements for Math programs.

 

This is a remote position open to applicants authorized to work for any employer within the United States. This is a Project Status Worker (PSW) role with an end date of 09/30/2028.

 

What you will be doing:   

  • Build and maintain digital products using authoring tools by following best practices, including metadata tagging, concept mapping, digital editing, and accurate build documentation.
  • Through a UBD process, design, storyboard, and develop digital curriculum assets such as eBooks, interactives, simulations, games, videos, and virtual labs.
  • Review manuscripts, create storyboards, and contribute during alpha and beta builds, as well as digital launches with vendors — including creating templates, trackers, and content development guidelines.
  • QA vendor work to ensure it adheres to established guidelines and contribute to user testing under the leadership of management and Senior team members.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure product requirements, project schedules, and goals are met on time, while meeting all intermediate and final deadlines.
  • Partner with Instructional Designers during product build, serving under Senior members of the team.
  • Identify, test, troubleshoot, and follow up on technical bugs and enhancements in authoring tools and platforms, helping to define requirements for improvements when necessary.
  • Become an expert in accessibility, with heavy contributions to this area throughout the product development process.

 

We’re looking for someone with: 

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Instructional Design, Education, Mathematics, Instructional Technology, or related field required.  
  • 0-2 years’ experience working in digital content development that includes teaching and learning materials. 
  • Experience with authoring tools, learning management systems, and content management systems. 
  • Previous K-12 teaching experience. 
  • Ability to create and visualize animated and interactive content. 
  • Adaptability: Maintaining effectiveness when experiencing major changes in work responsibilities or environment (e.g., people, processes, structure, or culture); adjusting effectively to change by exploring the benefits, trying new approaches, and collaborating with others to make the change successful.

The pay range for this position is between $54,500 – $55,000 annually. However, base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and location.  Additionally, a full range of medical and/or other benefits may be provided, depending on the position offered.
