Our client is a leading luxury e-commerce platform known for its trunk show model, giving customers early access to runway collections from top designers before they hit stores. The business spans women's fashion, fine jewelry, beauty, and home, curating exclusive product from a roster of established and emerging luxury designers. This is a fast-paced, trend-driven environment where buying decisions directly shape the customer experience.
Why does this role exist?
This role exists to support the Fine Jewelry team's Buyer in building and executing a merchandise assortment that hits sales and profit targets, at a time when the category needs dedicated hands-on support through a defined project window (running through January/February 2027). The Assistant Buyer will handle the analytical and operational backbone of the buying process — reporting, inventory balancing, PO management, and vendor coordination — so the Buyer can focus on strategic assortment and vendor decisions. Ultimately, this hire exists to help the Fine Jewelry category run smoothly and grow during a critical stretch of the business.
The Impact you’ll make
Merchandising & Buying Support
- Assist the Buyer in developing merchandise assortments, sales, and inventory plans for assigned departments
- Help build assortment models and balance inventory to maximize category performance
- Support execution of buying decisions and processes across the organization
Reporting & Trend Analysis
- Produce sales trend reports for the Buyer's review
- Project merchandise requirements for assigned departments based on sales data
- Monitor performance against plan and flag risks/opportunities
Order, Vendor & Inventory Management
- Enter and manage purchase orders (POs)
- Monitor shipments, deliveries, RTVs, and transfers
- Perform vendor pricing updates and maintain accurate vendor records
Process Execution & Cross-Functional Coordination
- Execute appropriate processes and decisions across relevant teams
- Manage PCA (price change authorization) requests and consignment viewings
- Act as a reliable point of coordination between the Buyer and other departments
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
Required:
- Prior experience in merchandising, ideally within fashion, luxury goods, or a related retail category.
- Solid understanding of the fashion and luxury goods industry, along with the consumer and market trends affecting it.
- Strong grasp of merchandising financials and retail math, with the ability to help manage category profitability.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Highly detail-oriented, with strong analytical skills.

Work Setup:
- Remote position

Working Hours:
- 40 hours per week
- 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM Eastern Time, Monday–Friday.
Compensation:
- $7 per hour
