Application Architect – Mobile App

Manning Global, an Internationally renowned staffing and managed services organization specializing in providing staffing solutions for leading corporations in AI, IT & Telecoms, Engineering, Digital Media, Automotive and Renewable Energy is hiring for its own expanding team a Application Architect – Mobile App to join its managed services project in Germany.

Key Responsibilities:

• Define and evolve the target architecture for the mobile app solution
  

• Define architectural principles, patterns and guardrails across React Native, native capabilities, WebViews, App BFF and integrations
  

• Define clear responsibilities and boundaries between app components and technology layers
  

• Own architectural decisions for major cross-component topics and integration patterns
  

• Define and govern architectural principles and non-functional requirements related to performance, stability, scalability, security, resilience, observability and maintainability
  

• Evaluate emerging AI use cases for the app and define the required architectural patterns, integrations and guardrails in collaboration with relevant architecture, security and engineering teams
  

• Review major technical designs and ensure alignment with the target architecture
  

• Collaborate closely with Solution Architects and Domain Architects to ensure alignment with broader platform, integration and enterprise architecture principles
  

• Coordinate architectural dependencies and interfaces between the app solution and surrounding domains
  

• Identify architectural risks, dependencies and technical debt and drive appropriate mitigation
  

• Ensure architectural consistency across multiple brands and product teams
  

• Support technology evaluations and architectural decisions for the evolution of the app platform
  

• Collaborate closely with Technical Leads, Product Owners, Developers, Security, Platform and backend engineering teams
  

Experience/Qualifications: 

• 8+ years of professional experience in software engineering or application/solution architecture, including 3+ years in an architecture role for large-scale digital or mobile applications
  

• Strong experience designing architectures for large-scale mobile or digital customer applications
  

• Experience in digital industries with complex customer journeys such as telecommunications, banking, insurance, utilities or e-commerce
  

• Strong understanding of mobile application architectures, including React Native, native iOS/Android and hybrid/WebView approaches
  

• Strong understanding of Backend-for-Frontend, API and integration architectures
  

• Experience defining architecture for multi-brand, white-label or highly configurable applications
  

• Strong knowledge of non-functional requirements including performance, scalability, stability, security and observability
  

• Good understanding of authentication and authorization concepts such as OAuth2 and OIDC
  

• Experience working with complex backend landscapes and distributed systems
  

• Experience collaborating with Solution Architects, Domain Architects and other architecture stakeholders in complex enterprise environments
  

• Experience designing or evaluating architectures for AI-enabled digital products and use cases, including integration of AI services into mobile applications and backend platforms, is a plus
  

• Strong analytical skills and the ability to make and communicate architectural trade- offs
  

• Experience working across multiple teams and stakeholder groups in complex engineering organizations
  

• Ability to communicate architecture clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
  

• Proficiency in English; German is a plus
