Job Description:

AI Transformation Manager

Group Role | Reports to Group Leader

About Modaxo

Modaxo is a global organisation bringing together businesses that collectively focus on advancing new technologies and innovations for people transportation. With more than 40 companies representing over 30 brands, Modaxo comprises over 3,300 people operating from almost 40 countries around the world.

"Modaxo's expertise, global bench strength, and singular focus on People Transportation make it a great home for technology companies that share our vision to efficiently move the world's people." — Bill Delaney, CEO, Modaxo

The Role

You will be a hands-on partner to our Business Units (BUs) — working directly with BU leaders and their teams to identify where AI creates commercial value, get initiatives off the ground, and build lasting capability. The role connects Modaxo's AI ambition to what happens in practice: finding the right opportunities, removing the obstacles that slow things down, and helping our people use AI with real confidence. This is a full-time role reporting to the Group Leader.

You don't need to be a developer or data scientist — but you should be a confident, knowledgeable AI practitioner who can credibly engage with both business leaders and technical teams.

Core Responsibilities

AI Opportunity & Roadmap

  • Work with BU (Business Unit) leaders to identify and prioritise AI use cases based on commercial impact, customer experience, feasibility, and strategic fit.
  • Translate priorities into actionable roadmaps and help teams build the business cases to move forward.
  • Share successful approaches across BUs — when something works in one business, help others benefit from it.

Implementation Support

  • Act as the practical implementation partner when BUs are using AI tools and workflows to drive their AI initiatives from conception to deployment.
  • Guide and advise Business Units on cost efficient tool utilisation and synergy creation across the Group.
  • Identify and remove blockers — process friction, data gaps, change resistance — to keep projects moving from pilot to production.
  • Run AI pilots designed to generate transferable learnings and scalable outcomes.

Capability Building

  • Support BU’s AI Champions day-to-day with guidance, escalation paths, and access to Modaxo AI Center of Excellence resources.
  • Run practical trainings — especially prompt crafting and real-world AI use — to build skills at team level.
  • Help BU AI Champions grow into confident, independent leads so BUs don't rely on central support for every question.

Group Leader Partnership

  • Maintain a live group AI roadmap to define key themes and initiatives to be rolled out across all BUs.
  • Keep the Group Leader informed on progress, blockers, and decisions that need their input.
  • Make AI adoption a visible part of normal operational performance conversations.
  • Define AI Governance approach for the Group.

Who We're Looking For

The strongest candidates will have made complex change happen inside real businesses — not just planned it. Backgrounds in consulting, transformation, or senior business partnering tend to work well.

Essential

  • Track record of driving adoption of significant change programmes in complex, multi-site organisations.
  • Comfortable managing multiple stakeholder relationships and competing priorities across business units simultaneously.
  • Background in business transformation, change management, or senior commercial/operational roles with meaningful change exposure or management consulting with relevant transformation experience.
  • Used to getting things done through people who don't report to you.
  • A genuine, hands-on user of AI in a professional context — credible, curious, and up to date.
  • Understands the realities of running a Business Unit: Commercial pressures, imperfect systems, limited bandwidth. Practitioner mindset.
  • Fluent in English (written and spoken); additional European languages are a plus.
  • Willingness to travel — occasional business trips, primarily within Europe but not exclusively.

Desirable

  • Experience in a multi-business group or divisional structure.
  • Familiarity with AI adoption or change frameworks (ADKAR, Kotter, etc.).
  • Modaxo or sector-relevant background.
