About the role
The Shade Room is seeking an experienced temp AI Social Video Producer to lead hands-on creative and production work for a multi-phase, high-priority content innovation initiative for a project up to 6 months.
This role will support TSR's Content teams by leveraging proven experience in creating AI-enabled social and video content to help internal teams build fluency with the technology.
The producer will turn TSR-approved creative briefs into platform-native social and video content, test and refine prompts and workflows, support rapid iteration, and document repeatable production practices.
What you'll do
- Write, develop, edit, and produce engaging, high-quality content and copy tailored for social media platforms, including but not limited to Instagram, X, TikTok, Facebook, and YouTube.
- Write, develop, edit, and produce engaging, high-quality, platform-native content and copy for social media, including but not limited to Instagram, X, TikTok, Facebook, and YouTube.
- Create AI-generated and AI-assisted social and video content using OpenAI and other approved tools, translating creative concepts, briefs, scripts, and story ideas into effective prompts and production-ready outputs.
- Stay ahead of developing news, cultural moments, social trends, and emerging topics that connect with The Shade Room audience and identify timely opportunities for original content.
- Develop content that authentically reflects The Shade Room’s voice, audience, franchises, and storytelling standards while adapting creative and execution for each platform.
- Generate, test, edit, and refine creative concepts, video, graphics, copy, and other content elements based on editorial direction, audience response, platform considerations, and performance.
- Collaborate across Social, Editorial, Studios, and other relevant teams to support AI-assisted content development and production across social, digital, and video programming.
- Maintain organized prompts, assets, project files, and production workflows, and document successful techniques and learnings to support repeatable best practices and internal team knowledge.
- Stay current on emerging AI capabilities, social platforms, content formats, and industry developments, identifying opportunities to improve creative output and production workflows.
- Apply established brand, editorial, legal, rights, and platform guidelines to content development and flag potential accuracy, quality, clearance, compliance, or brand-safety concerns to the appropriate leads.
- Manage multiple assignments and quick-turnaround requests while maintaining strong standards for accuracy, quality, creativity, brand consistency, and attention to detail.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
- Great news judgment and a strong understanding of Black culture across the diaspora, with familiarity with The Shade Room’s brand, voice, audience, and content style.
- Demonstrated hands-on experience producing high-quality AI-generated or AI-assisted social and video content; experience with OpenAI creative tools strongly preferred.
- Strong understanding of social media best practices and platform-native storytelling across Instagram, X, TikTok, Facebook, YouTube, and emerging platforms.
- Strong prompting and creative-development skills, with the ability to translate concepts and briefs into compelling AI-generated visual and video outputs.
- A creative producer with the ability to write and self-edit in a witty, fun, culturally relevant, and trendy tone that appeals to The Shade Room’s core 18–41-year-old demographic.
- Working knowledge of short-form video production, editing, motion, graphic composition, pacing, captions, sound, and social publishing standards.
- Impeccable attention to detail, strong organizational and collaboration skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a quick-turnaround environment without sacrificing quality, accuracy, or personality.
- Ability to experiment with evolving technology, troubleshoot creative and technical challenges, and translate learnings into repeatable production practices.
- Stay up to date on industry and cultural trends, AI tools, social platform developments, and legal and digital media compliance requirements, escalating potential accuracy, rights, compliance, or brand-safety concerns as appropriate.Describe the attributes of the ideal candidate.
Education and Experience
Minimum of 2+ years of relevant experience in social video, digital content production, creative production, emerging media, or a comparable field preferred. A portfolio demonstrating hands-on AI-generated visual and/or video work is required. Experience supporting publishers, media organizations, entertainment brands, or high-volume social teams is strongly preferred. Equivalent practical experience may substitute for formal education.
Duration
This is a six-month temporary assignment with a tentative start date of August 31, 2026. There is no guarantee of an extension or permanent employment following the assignment. As a temporary employee, your employment and payroll will be administered through TeamPeople, the staffing company.
