We are looking for an experienced Agent Backend Developer to build the core intelligence and execution layer of AI-powered agents. This is a pure backend role focused on agent planning, multi-step reasoning, tool and API calling, workflow orchestration, and production-grade AI systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop backend systems for AI agents using Python, LangGraph, and LangChain.
- Build agent workflows involving planning, reasoning, memory, tool selection, and multi-step execution.
- Integrate external APIs, databases, internal services, and third-party tools with AI agents.
- Develop scalable and asynchronous backend services using FastAPI.
- Implement reliable tool-calling, retries, error handling, fallbacks, and state management.
- Design prompts and structured outputs for accurate and consistent agent behaviour.
- Monitor and improve agent performance, latency, reliability, and cost.
- Collaborate with AI, product, and engineering teams to convert business use cases into production-ready agent workflows.
Requirements
- 8+ years of backend software development experience.
- Strong proficiency in Python and asynchronous programming.
- Hands-on experience with LangGraph, LangChain, or similar agent orchestration frameworks.
- Experience building AI agents involving tool calling, reasoning chains, and workflow orchestration.
- Strong experience developing APIs and microservices using FastAPI.
- Good understanding of LLMs, prompt engineering, structured outputs, and context management.
- Experience integrating external APIs, databases, and backend services.
- Strong understanding of distributed systems, scalability, observability, and production debugging.
- No frontend or UI development experience is required.
