Lead and develop a team of specialists responsible for the accurate and timely processing of agent commission payments. Oversee transactional accounting, monitor performance metrics, and resolve payment-processing escalations.
Position Overview
LPT Realty is seeking an Agent Commission Payments Manager to lead the team responsible for processing and disbursing agent commission payments. This role directly manages a team of Agent Commission Payments Specialists and Senior Agent Commission Payments Specialists, ensuring every cleared transaction is processed accurately, and every payout is issued on time.
The Agent Commission Payments Manager owns the transactional accounting side of agent commissions — processing payments, maintaining accurate financial records, and handling the day-to-day execution of payouts once a transaction has been reviewed and cleared by Commission Operations.
The ideal candidate is a hands-on people leader who thrives running a high-volume, deadline-driven team and has a sharp eye for catching errors before they reach an agent’s payout.
Key Responsibilities
Team Leadership & Development
- Lead, coach, and develop the team of Agent Commission Payments Specialists and Senior Agent Commission Payments Specialists, fostering a high-performance, accountable culture.
- Conduct performance reviews, deliver ongoing feedback, and manage specialist development and career progression.
- Lead team meetings and training sessions to keep the team aligned on process changes and payout standards.
Payment Processing & Transactional Accounting
- Manage day-to-day workflow distribution, ensuring cleared transactions are processed and prioritized appropriately so payouts are issued accurately and on time.
- Oversee the team’s processing of agent commission payments, ensuring figures, accounts, and disbursement details are accurate before payout.
- Monitor team-level performance metrics (turnaround time, accuracy, daily/weekly payout targets) and ensure standards are consistently met.
- Serve as the first point of escalation for payment-processing errors, agent disputes, or unusual transactions, resolving issues that can be addressed at the team level.
Escalation & Continuous Improvement Support
- Route transactions with unresolved commission discrepancies back to the Commission Operations Manager for re-review before processing.
- Identify recurring errors or bottlenecks in the day-to-day payment workflow and flag them for process improvement.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation of payment processing decisions and exceptions handled by the team.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in commission payment processing, basic accounting, brokerage operations, or transaction management.
- At least 3–5 years of relevant experience, with 2+ years in a people management role preferred.
- Working knowledge of commission structures and payment/accounting processes (multi-state experience a plus).
- Demonstrated success leading a high-volume, transaction-based team and consistently meeting service-level targets.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Strong attention to detail, with the ability to quickly identify discrepancies in payment processing or figures.
- Experience with Dotloop or similar transaction management platforms.
- Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
- Real estate license preferred.
