The adjunct faculty member will provide academic tutoring support to students in the Accelerated Doctor of Pharmacy program through both remote and in-person sessions. They are also responsible for documenting sessions, providing student feedback, and assisting with course development and assessment.
The Center for Academic Success & Enrichment is seeking a part-time faculty (professional) tutor to support the School of Pharmacy – Worcester/Manchester. The selected candidate will offer remote and/or in-person academic tutoring support to students enrolled in in the Accelerated Doctor of Pharmacy program.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Offer weekly tutoring availability for students enrolled in the first and second years of the Accelerated Doctor of Pharmacy program
- Facilitate tutoring sessions in an in-person and/or
- ent
- Provide individualized feedback specific to student tutees as it relates to their competency with subject matter
- Use the University’s learning management and scheduling system to communicate with students and document sessions
- Provide feedback to the program as it relates to observed student trends, concerns, and the like
- Promotes engagement with and application of course content during sessions as to demonstrate the real-world applications of concepts covered
- Provide service including student mentoring, ongoing course development, and assessment
Additional responsibilities may be assigned by the supervisor
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in and/or familiarity with the School of Pharmacy Worcester/Manchester Accelerated Doctor of Pharmacy program
Qualifications
Required:
- Doctor of Pharmacy Degree
- Commitment to undergraduate, graduate and/or professional education and student success
- Demonstrates proficiency with educational and workplace technologies, including learning management systems, Microsoft 365 applications, student success platforms, and emerging digital tools
- Excellent organizational and communication skills
- Must be able to work independently and effectively interact with a wide array of parties at all levels (students, faculty, administration/staff, alumni, and external constituents, including healthcare industry professionals)
