The 2D Storyboard Artist will develop animated sequences for a sports documentary by collaborating with the Animation Director. They are responsible for creating storyboards that effectively communicate action, emotion, and camera direction while maintaining historical authenticity.
We are looking for a 2D Storyboard Artist to help develop animated sequences for an upcoming 2D animated project. The artist will work closely with the Animation Director, exploring shots, compositions, character acting and movement, and helping translate historical moments into clear and engaging animated sequences.
The project is a sports documentary consisting of approximately 12 minutes of animation, comprising 19 short interstitials. Animated segments will appear alongside archival material, recreating or complementing historical moments through short animated sequences.
The characters are primarily professional athletes, so a strong understanding of anatomy, movement, physicality and sports action is important.
The visual direction will combine realism and stylization, with expressive drawing, dynamic posing, strong compositions and a clear 2D artistic feel. The storyboards will need to effectively communicate action, emotion, staging and camera direction while maintaining the energy and authenticity of the historical moments being portrayed.
