Working Student (m/f/d) Full-Stack Developer - Next.js

We are CBAM Estimator – a young SaaS company based in Stuttgart. Our mission is to help companies meet the requirements of the EU Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM) correctly, efficiently and at scale.

To do this, we build modern web platforms that let our customers analyze the impact, obligations and costs of CBAM and estimate them realistically. Our customers include international industrial and trading companies that rely on accurate data, clean processes and planning certainty.

We are a young, international team with diverse backgrounds – from IT, emissions calculation and mathematics to business. What unites us is the drive to make complex regulation solvable in a pragmatic, transparent way. We work data-driven and direct, without corporate bureaucracy. Taking ownership, questioning things and moving fast are part of our everyday work.

As a Working Student in Next.js Development, you'll work around 20 hours per week alongside your studies and contribute directly to production features of our platform – not isolated practice tasks. You'll work closely with our development team, have real influence on how features are built, and gain hands-on insight into developing a SaaS product used by international customers.

Tasks

- Develop new features for our CBAM web platform and improve existing functionality

- Help build a platform for calculating supply chain emissions

- Work with modern web technologies such as Next.js, TypeScript and TailwindCSS

- Implement frontend and backend functionality in close collaboration with the development team

- Contribute to structuring code, components and data models

- Gain experience with software development processes, code reviews and version control

Requirements

Required:

- Very good written and spoken English

- Enrolled in a Master's program in Computer Science or a related field

- Some experience in web development, ideally with Next.js and TypeScript – or the willingness and ability to learn new technologies quickly

- You work independently, in a structured way, and reliably

- You're motivated, curious and interested in working on a production software system

- You communicate technical topics clearly and enjoy working in a team

Nice to have:

- Experience with TailwindCSS

- Experience with Drizzle ORM / SQLite

- Experience with Next.js authentication (e.g. NextAuth or similar)

- Basic understanding of IT security (e.g. OWASP Top 10, secure auth flows, API security)

- Experience with Git, code reviews or modern development workflows
