The role involves managing the company's WordPress website and creating both external marketing content and internal operational documentation. You will collaborate with leadership and subject-matter experts to ensure information is accurate, well-organized, and aligned with company standards.
This is a remote position.
About the Role
We are looking for a versatile WordPress Site Builder & Content Writer who can own both our external web presence and our internal knowledge base. This person will work closely with our operations, sales, and leadership teams — attending internal meetings, interviewing subject-matter experts, and turning raw information into polished content for two distinct audiences: our customers and carriers on one side, and our internal team on the other.
This is a role for someone who is equally comfortable building and maintaining a WordPress website as they are writing a process guide or drafting a blog post. If you enjoy learning new industries, asking good questions, and organizing information clearly, this role was built for you.
Schedule is 8 hours/day, 8am to 5pm, Eastern Time, Mondays to Fridays.
Your responsibilities
WordPress Website Management
- Build, maintain, and update the ARS Logistics WordPress website, including pages, blog posts, landing pages, and any customer- or carrier-facing resources.
- Ensure the site is organized, easy to navigate, up to date, and optimized for search engines (SEO).
- Coordinate with leadership and the IT Administrator on any design or structural changes needed.
External Content Writing
- Write informative, well-researched blog articles and web content covering topics relevant to freight, shipping, and logistics — written for customers, carriers, and industry readers.
- Publish content directly to WordPress and manage the content calendar.
- Ensure all external content reflects the ARS Logistics brand voice: clear, professional, and approachable.
Internal Documentation
- Develop and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), process guides, onboarding documents, and training materials for internal teams.
- Work with department leads and team members to capture how things are done and document them in a clear, reusable format.
- Organize and maintain a central internal knowledge base so team members can find what they need quickly.
Research & Information Gathering
- Attend internal team meetings (as appropriate) to stay informed on company operations, updates, and priorities.
- Conduct 1–2 structured interviews per week with internal subject-matter experts (SMEs) to gather accurate information for content and documentation.
- Independently research logistics industry topics as needed to support content creation.
Important Notes
- This role involves access to internal company processes and operational information. A Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA) and data-handling clause may be required prior to start.
- Meeting attendance and tool access will be confirmed during onboarding based on role scope and leadership approval.
- Compensation is offered in PHP on an every 2-week basis. Rate is negotiable within the stated range based on demonstrated experience.
Requirements
Required Skills & Experience
- Proven experience writing clear, structured content in English — articles, guides, SOPs, or similar.
- Hands-on experience building or managing WordPress websites (pages, posts, plugins, basic SEO).
- Strong ability to interview non-writers and extract usable, accurate information.
- Ability to write in two distinct styles: engaging and informative (external) and precise and procedural (internal).
- Self-directed and organized — able to manage your own deadlines and content pipeline with minimal hand-holding.
- Comfortable working fully remotely and communicating asynchronously across time zones.
Nice to Have
- Familiarity with freight, logistics, trucking, or supply chain — or a demonstrated ability to learn a technical industry quickly.
- Experience with SEO tools (e.g., Yoast, Google Search Console, Ahrefs, or similar).
- Experience with documentation platforms (e.g., Notion, Confluence, or Google Docs).
- Basic graphic design or image editing skills for web content (e.g., Canva).
- Experience working with remote or US-based companies.
