The Website Implementation Specialist (Team Lead) is responsible for leading the end-to-end build and launch of automotive dealership websites. This role owns project timelines, dealer kickoff and review calls, technical configuration, and cross-functional coordination while overseeing content and QA specialists to ensure high-quality, on-time website launches aligned with performance best practices.Key Responsibilities

Team Leadership & Ownership

  • Serve as the Web Implementation Team Lead overseeing the site build process and working closely with content and QA specialists.

  • Act as the primary driver of timelines, accountability, and execution throughout the website build process.

  • Collaborate closely with developers on homepage builds and other areas requiring advanced coding.

  • Apply working knowledge of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript to support custom development, troubleshooting, and implementation decisions.

Project Planning & Timeline Management

  • Define and manage the full site build timeline, including content deadlines, QA deadlines, review calls, and launch dates.

  • Maintain and update all associated projects and calendars to ensure cross-team alignment.

  • Ensure build phases progress on schedule and that tickets are created, updated, and moved appropriately through each stage.

Dealer Kickoff & Discovery

  • Prepare for kickoff calls by verifying the onboarding form is fully completed and reviewing the dealer’s current live website.

  • Lead kickoff calls alongside the Customer Success Manager (CSM), ensuring the conversation is efficient, thorough, and aligned with best practices.

  • Present website layouts and strongly recommend the top-performing layout, clearly explaining performance benefits.

  • Review SRPs and VDPs with the dealer, confirming configuration of sorting, CTAs, images, pricing, third-party integrations, custom blocks, and disclaimers.

  • Review all action-oriented pages during the kickoff call to confirm CTAs, forms, links, and routing will not change on the new site.

  • Walk through site navigation and menus, setting expectations that they will be optimized using established best practices.

Content Strategy, Migration & SEO Coordination

  • Oversee the migration of OEM pages, core pages, and relevant custom pages from the dealer’s existing site.

  • Evaluate additional pages for relevance and quality, ensuring thin or unnecessary content is not migrated.

  • Partner with the analytics team to identify high-traffic and high-converting SEO pages to be brought over; ensure all remaining pages are properly redirected.

  • Coordinate with external SEO agencies to determine page ownership, migration responsibilities, and timing when applicable.

  • Manage expectations around SEO agency access, ensuring agencies receive access only after site launch.

Technical Implementation & Configuration

  • Own and execute assigned implementation tickets, including:

    • Requesting and adding inventory feeds

    • Requesting and implementing third-party scripts and integrations

    • Configuring SRPs and VDPs (sorting, CTAs, images, pricing, third parties, custom blocks, disclaimers)

Build Oversight & Quality Control

  • Oversee the website build process, ensuring content specialists and QA specialists meet deadlines and quality standards.

  • Monitor overall site quality, functionality, and adherence to agreed-upon configurations prior to dealer review.

  • Initiate content test leads upon build completion, triggering automation for the CSM to schedule the review call.

Dealer Review & Finalization

  • Lead the dealer review call while the CSM captures notes.

  • Utilize the review call spreadsheet to ensure all site elements are reviewed for accuracy and alignment with kickoff decisions.

  • Make requested updates and maintain an open items list to ensure all follow-ups are completed prior to launch.

Launch Coordination & DNS Management

  • Coordinate with internal software engineering and dealership IT contacts to prepare for site launch.

  • Verify DNS access, obtain zone files if needed, manage TTL adjustments, and confirm launch readiness.

  • Schedule and oversee launch day execution, ensuring a smooth transition to the live environment.

Post-Launch Support & Orientation

  • Support post-launch activities, including resolving outstanding items identified during review.

  • Participate in the dealer orientation call scheduled by the CSM.

  • Review remaining open items, confirm user profiles are set up, and backend training is covered.

Process Adherence & Continuous Improvement

  • Follow established implementation processes and documentation standards.

  • Maintain accurate records of decisions, configurations, approvals, and launch details.

  • Contribute to ongoing process improvements and implementation best practices.



Requirements

Qualifications

Required

  • Experience implementing or supporting websites in a professional environment.

  • Strong project ownership skills and comfort leading timelines and client-facing calls.

  • Proficiency in HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.

  • Ability to collaborate across internal teams and external vendor partners.

  • High attention to detail and commitment to quality execution.

  • At least 3 years of experience implementing websites for automotive dealerships.

  • Advanced experience with JavaScript for custom development and third-party integrations.

Preferred

  • Experience working with automotive dealerships or OEM compliance standards.

  • Familiarity with inventory feeds, SRPs/VDPs, and third-party website integrations.

  • Prior leadership experience coordinating cross-functional implementation teams.
