The Web Development Manager leads a distributed team of developers, overseeing technical standards, delivery quality, and team growth. They are responsible for capacity planning, process improvement, and acting as a technical escalation point for client projects.
ABOUT THE ROLE: The Web Development Manager leads Pandoblox's embedded web development team, owning the technical standards, delivery quality, and day-to-day management that keep our client web projects on track and our developers growing. This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who can set direction across a modern web stack, coach a distributed team, and represent that team confidently in front of clients. Strong technical judgment, people-management ability, and excellent communication are the key abilities for the role.
RESPONSIBILITIES:

Lead and manage a distributed team of web developers working across WordPress, headless WordPress, and Webflow
Own the team's technical standards, coding conventions, peer-review practices, and tooling decisions
Run regular 1:1s, set clear role expectations, and support the team's growth and performance
Lead upskilling across the team, with a particular focus on Webflow adoption and modern CMS/JAMstack practices
Conduct a top-to-bottom review of current development processes and drive improvements
Oversee weekly workload and capacity planning to keep the team appropriately utilized
Support delivery operations, including time-tracking review, leave and overtime coordination, and quality assurance
Help scope and size incoming work, coaching the team on realistic level-of-effort estimation
Provide technical input into statements of work and change orders
Act as an escalation point for technical decisions across the team
Represent the team in client and project meetings when required, presenting clearly and professionally
Work closely with engagement management, project management, and HR to keep the team aligned and supported
Build redundancy and coverage across projects so delivery never depends on a single developer
Participate in the ongoing development of the team and the web development practice
Perform other adhoc tasks related to the role
REQUIREMENTS:
On day one, we'll expect you to...
Have 6+ years experience in web development, with 2+ years leading or managing a development team
Have strong hands-on experience across modern web stacks, including WordPress and headless WordPress
Have experience or familiarity with Webflow, Nuxt/Vue, Storyblok, and modern CMS/JAMstack patterns
Have proven people-management ability, including running 1:1s, setting expectations, and coaching for performance
Have a solid grasp of delivery operations, including capacity planning, estimation, code review, and quality assurance
Have excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to interact with clients and present technical work with confidence
Be comfortable with project management and time-tracking tools such as Teamwork, Harvest, and Desktime
Be self-directed and able to add significant value within a focused part-time schedule
Have a fully functional and up-to-date computer with which to perform duties
Be willing to install next generation end point protection on the computer
Be a current resident of the Philippines and can perform work from there
Be willing to work within US Pacific timezone (8am - 5pm PDT, 12AM - 9AM Manila time) or during client hours as required
Be willing to undergo a 90-days probationary period upon initial hire
Be open to a part time contract opportunity, with the potential to grow into additional hours over time
