AI Summary

The Web Development Manager leads a distributed team of developers, overseeing technical standards, delivery quality, and team growth. They are responsible for capacity planning, process improvement, and acting as a technical escalation point for client projects.

ABOUT THE ROLE:
The Web Development Manager leads Pandoblox's embedded web development team, owning the technical standards, delivery quality, and day-to-day management that keep our client web projects on track and our developers growing. This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who can set direction across a modern web stack, coach a distributed team, and represent that team confidently in front of clients. Strong technical judgment, people-management ability, and excellent communication are the key abilities for the role.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

In this role, you'll get to...

  • Lead and manage a distributed team of web developers working across WordPress, headless WordPress, and Webflow
  • Own the team's technical standards, coding conventions, peer-review practices, and tooling decisions
  • Run regular 1:1s, set clear role expectations, and support the team's growth and performance
  • Lead upskilling across the team, with a particular focus on Webflow adoption and modern CMS/JAMstack practices
  • Conduct a top-to-bottom review of current development processes and drive improvements
  • Oversee weekly workload and capacity planning to keep the team appropriately utilized
  • Support delivery operations, including time-tracking review, leave and overtime coordination, and quality assurance
  • Help scope and size incoming work, coaching the team on realistic level-of-effort estimation
  • Provide technical input into statements of work and change orders
  • Act as an escalation point for technical decisions across the team
  • Represent the team in client and project meetings when required, presenting clearly and professionally
  • Work closely with engagement management, project management, and HR to keep the team aligned and supported
  • Build redundancy and coverage across projects so delivery never depends on a single developer
  • Participate in the ongoing development of the team and the web development practice
  • Perform other adhoc tasks related to the role

REQUIREMENTS:

On day one, we'll expect you to...

  • Have 6+ years experience in web development, with 2+ years leading or managing a development team
  • Have strong hands-on experience across modern web stacks, including WordPress and headless WordPress
  • Have experience or familiarity with Webflow, Nuxt/Vue, Storyblok, and modern CMS/JAMstack patterns
  • Have proven people-management ability, including running 1:1s, setting expectations, and coaching for performance
  • Have a solid grasp of delivery operations, including capacity planning, estimation, code review, and quality assurance
  • Have excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to interact with clients and present technical work with confidence
  • Be comfortable with project management and time-tracking tools such as Teamwork, Harvest, and Desktime
  • Be self-directed and able to add significant value within a focused part-time schedule
  • Have a fully functional and up-to-date computer with which to perform duties
  • Be willing to install next generation end point protection on the computer
  • Be a current resident of the Philippines and can perform work from there
  • Be willing to work within US Pacific timezone (8am - 5pm PDT, 12AM - 9AM Manila time) or during client hours as required
  • Be willing to undergo a 90-days probationary period upon initial hire
  • Be open to a part time contract opportunity, with the potential to grow into additional hours over time

What separates the best from the rest

  • Experience in an agency or managed-staffing / outsourced delivery model
  • Exposure to AI-assisted development workflows
  • A track record of standing up or improving development processes from the ground up
