VP, AD Operations

The Vice President, AD (anaerobic digestion) Operations is responsible for the operational leadership, reliability, safety, environmental compliance, and financial performance of Mobius Renewables' anaerobic digestion gas-to-renewable natural gas (RNG) portfolio. This role provides leadership for operations teams across multiple facilities and is accountable for production performance, operational excellence, workforce development, and execution of strategic initiatives.

The VP serves as the senior operational leader for the AD portfolio and works closely with Engineering, Reliability, Automation, Wastewater Operations, Maintenance, Commercial, Finance, Project Development, and Project Execution teams to maximize asset value, improve production, and support company growth.

Key Responsibilities

Operational Leadership

·       Lead day-to-day operational performance across the AD RNG portfolio.

·       Establish production, reliability, safety, and financial objectives for all facilities.

·       Ensure consistent execution of operating standards and best practices.

·       Drive operational accountability through KPI management and performance reviews.

·       Support fleet-wide operational excellence initiatives.

Production & Asset Performance

·       Oversee facility production, gas recovery, uptime, and operational efficiency.

·       Monitor and improve key performance indicators including:

o   RNG production

o   Facility availability

o   Equipment reliability

o   Gas recovery performance

o   Operating costs

o   Environmental compliance

·       Implement strategies that maximize throughput and EBITDA performance.

Financial Management

·       Manage operational budgets and forecasts for the landfill portfolio.

·       Monitor labor, maintenance, contractor, and operating expenditures.

·       Support capital planning and project prioritization.

·       Identify opportunities for cost reduction and operational efficiency.

·       Partner with Finance to improve operational and financial performance.

Safety & Regulatory Compliance

·       Champion a safety-first culture across all landfill operations.

·       Ensure compliance with environmental permits, regulatory requirements, and company policies.

·       Lead corrective actions related to audits, inspections, incidents, and compliance findings.

·       Support emergency response planning and risk mitigation activities.

·       Maintain operational readiness and audit preparedness.

Reliability & Maintenance Strategy

·       Partner with Engineering, Reliability, and Maintenance teams to improve asset performance.

·       Drive preventive and predictive maintenance initiatives.

·       Support outage planning and major maintenance activities.

·       Ensure adequate staffing, tools, inventory, and contractor resources.

·       Lead operational support for root cause investigations and corrective actions.

Wastewater and AD Performance Improvements

·       Partner with feedstock partner leadership to optimize gas collection and recovery.

·       Support strategies for improving gas quality, collection efficiency, and production stability.

·       Coordinate operational requirements with project site wastewater operation and compliance activities.

·       Evaluate operational impacts of wastewater infrastructure and capital improvement projects.

Team Leadership & Development

·       Lead a multi-site operations organization focused on safe and efficient facility performance.

·       Mentor and develop operational leaders and technical personnel.

·       Establish succession planning and workforce development programs.

·       Promote collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.

·       Ensure effective onboarding, training, and qualification programs across facilities.

Capital Projects & Growth Support

·       Support commissioning, startup, and operational integration of new facilities and expansions.

·       Partner with Project Development and Project Execution teams.

·       Evaluate operational impacts of capital projects and acquisitions.

·       Support technical due diligence and integration efforts for growth opportunities.

Executive & Cross-Functional Leadership

·       Collaborate with Commercial, Engineering, Finance, Regulatory, and Development leadership.

·       Provide operational performance updates and recommendations to executive leadership.

·       Represent Mobius with landfill owners, partners, regulators, contractors, and key stakeholders.

·       Translate strategic objectives into operational execution plans.

Qualifications

Education

·       Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Operations Management, Environmental Science, Industrial Technology, Business, or related field required.

·       Advanced degree preferred.

Experience

·       12+ years of progressive industrial operations leadership experience.

·       7+ years of multi-site leadership responsibility.

·       Experience managing anaerobic digestion, RNG, natural gas, energy infrastructure, wastewater, industrial manufacturing, or related facilities.

·       Proven experience managing operational performance, budgets, and safety programs.

Preferred Qualifications

·       Direct AD-to-RNG operations experience.

·       Experience overseeing geographically dispersed operations.

·       Experience supporting facility construction, commissioning, and startup activities.

·       Strong understanding of wastewater operations, gas recovery, and environmental compliance requirements.
