About the Role
Join our pharmacy team to provide vital remote support for children in Gaza. You will verify medical supplies, manage prescriptions, and guide safe medication use, helping to ensure children receive the care they need. Collaborate with local and international teams to procure and deliver essential medications and supplements under challenging and complex conditions.
Key Responsibilities
- Remotely review and verify medical supply lists for children in Gaza, ensuring the accuracy and availability of essential medications in a conflict zone.
- Assist medical professionals with prescription management, providing guidance on appropriate medication use and addressing any potential issues related to drug safety.
- Provide remote support and consultation to the medical team on pharmaceutical matters, ensuring the best possible outcomes for the children receiving care.
- Oversee monitoring of individual assigned children on long term medication including medicines information and drug safety and where possible monitor personal medication stocks ensure each child assigned does not experience unnecessary stock outs.
- Highlights any medications out of stock in Gaza to SLT in order to assist with procurement and importation into Gaza by any means possible.
- Work closely with the local Gazan pharmacy team regarding all aspects of medication procurement, handling, storage, dosing and appropriate alternatives (when a requested item is not available).
- Collaborate with healthcare providers, including nutritionists, to locally source and procure required pharmaceuticals and nutritional supplements, ensuring timely and safe delivery under challenging conditions.
- Assist where possible with the international procurement and transport of medications and medical consumables not currently available in Gaza
- Monitor and manage the inventory of medications and supplements, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and adapting to the dynamic needs of a live conflict zone.
- Work closely with the procurement and medical teams to overcome logistical challenges and ensure continuous supply of necessary medications and supplements.
- Contribute to service development.
Qualifications
Essential:
- GPhC registration or equivalent
- Postgrad Diploma in Clinical Pharmacy or equivalent
Desirable:
- Member of RPS
- Member of NPPG
Experience
Essential:
- Paediatric pharmacy
- In-patient hospital pharmacy
Desirable:
- Global health
- Procurement
Knowledge & Skills
- Clinical Pharmacy.
- Awareness of national paediatric pharmacy policies.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a small, dynamic team.
