The Senior Producer will own the end-to-end video production process, from creative concept development and directing shoots to managing budgets and freelance crews. They will also oversee post-production, ensuring high-quality delivery while maintaining schedules across multiple concurrent projects.
Collateral Partners · Remote · Full-time
Collateral Partners is a brand and communications firm working with clients across capital markets: private equity firms, asset managers, and founders through raises, transactions and launches. We use video and motion to tell many of these stories.
We are hiring our first dedicated Senior Producer to own that work. This is a hybrid seat typical of a small-crew setup. You will assist in setting the creative direction and you run the production. You will help develop the concept, direct the shoot and steer the edit, and you will also cost the project, build the crew and hold the schedule.
The work is high-craft rather than large-format. Think documentary and brand films made by a tight team, often with you directing and sometimes operating, delivered to a standard that stands up on an owned channel. You will build a freelance bench around you as volume grows, and as the function scales there is a clear path into leading a video team.
Develop concepts and treatments from a client brief or a business objective
Direct on set, covering the look, the coverage, the performance and the story
Conduct and direct interviews, including with senior and unfamiliar subjects
Build shot lists and shape narrative structure, working with writers where a project calls for one
Direct the edit: and work with a team to cut structure, sound, grade and final delivery
Brief and direct motion designers and animators, and hold the creative standard on motion and animated deliverables
Hold the quality bar across everything we produce
Scope and build project budgets, then deliver against them
Build and maintain production schedules across several concurrent projects
Source, brief and manage freelance crew (DPs, camera operators, editors, motion designers, writers and voice talent) in whichever market the work requires
Handle production logistics: locations, permits, releases, travel and kit
Manage post-production through to versioning and delivery
Work directly with clients and internal stakeholders, including travel for shoots
A showreel of work you’ve had your hand in. Ideally across documentary, branded or commercial projects
Comfort working in small crews, able to direct with a team of two to four and to operate yourself when a project calls for it
Solid technical grounding in camera, lighting and sound. You do not need to be a DP, but you need to know when a setup is not working and be able to say why
Strong interview craft and the confidence to draw a story out of a subject on the day
Proven budgeting and scheduling ability. Costing a project accurately and delivering to it is core to the role
Experience building and directing freelance crews, including in unfamiliar markets
Confidence briefing, directing and reviewing motion design and animation work
Excellent written and spoken English. We are a communications firm and everything we produce is narrative at heart
The organisation and self-direction to run several projects at once in a remote, autonomous environment
Long-form or documentary experience, including archive-led storytelling
Scriptwriting or strong conceptual development ability
