Vice President of AI Transformation

About the Role

Express Flooring has grown more than 4x since 2020, and as we continue expanding, we’re investing in AI as a critical part of how we scale.

As our Vice President of AI Transformation, you’ll report directly to the CEO and lead the company-wide strategy for embedding AI into how Express Flooring operates. You’ll partner across the business to identify high-impact opportunities, redesign how work gets done, and turn AI investments into measurable improvements in growth, profitability, productivity, and customer experience.

This is a business transformation leadership role, not a technical AI position. The right leader will understand the rapidly evolving landscape of agentic AI and be excited to put it to work in a fast-growing environment. Success won’t be measured by the number of tools deployed, but by the business outcomes AI helps our teams achieve.

Job Type: Full-Time
Compensation: $200,000 - $250,000 base annual salary + bonus
Work Arrangement: Remote
Reports To: Chief Executive Officer (CEO)
Travel Requirements: Approximately 25–50% travel, primarily to Phoenix, AZ

What You’ll Do

• Build a culture where AI is used as a strategic partner and AI agents become an integrated part of how teams work.
• Develop and execute the company’s enterprise AI strategy and multi-year roadmap.
• Partner with executive leaders across Sales, Marketing, Operations, Customer Experience, Finance, HR, IT, and Supply Chain to identify high-value AI opportunities.
• Partner with the Executive Leadership Team to prioritize AI initiatives and investments.
• Redesign business processes to eliminate inefficiencies, reduce manual work, and improve decision-making.
• Lead the evaluation, selection, implementation, and adoption of AI technologies.
• Establish enterprise AI governance across security, data privacy, vendor standards, and responsible AI practices.
• Build an AI-enabled culture through executive coaching, employee education, and change management.
• Measure and communicate the business impact and ROI of AI initiatives.

What Success Looks Like

First 90 Days
Build a comprehensive understanding of Express Flooring’s business and identify and prioritize where AI and agentic solutions can create the greatest impact while being technically feasible.

Within 6 Months
Launch at least one significant AI agent and establish a repeatable playbook for evaluating, implementing, and scaling AI initiatives.

Over the Next 3 Years
AI is embedded across major business processes. Leaders know how to effectively manage teams that include both people and AI agents, employees use AI to work more effectively, customers experience faster and more personalized interactions, and AI initiatives consistently produce measurable business results.

What You’ll Bring to the Table

• 10+ years of progressive leadership experience in enterprise transformation, digital strategy, operations, innovation, or a related field.
• A proven track record of turning complex transformation initiatives into measurable improvements in revenue, profitability, productivity, or customer experience.
• Strong business acumen with fluency in AI, data, technology, security, and vendor solutions to make informed strategic decisions.
• Experience leading significant cross-functional change and influencing senior leaders across an organization.
• A practical, business-first approach to AI—focused on solving real problems, redesigning processes, and delivering measurable ROI.
• Executive presence, intellectual curiosity, strong judgment, and a bias for action in a fast-moving environment.
• The ability to translate emerging AI capabilities into solutions employees can adopt, leaders can support, and the business can scale.

You don’t need to be the person building the technology. You should be comfortable evaluating AI opportunities, partnering with technical teams, and translating what’s possible into meaningful business outcomes.
