What you will be doing:

We are seeking an experienced Appian Engineer to design, develop, integrate, and support enterprise applications built on the Appian platform. This role will focus on delivering secure, scalable, and user-friendly workflows for internal and external users, while integrating Appian with critical enterprise platforms and maintaining clear system-of-record boundaries.

The ideal candidate has strong hands-on Appian development experience, understands complex business processes and asynchronous integrations, and can translate prioritized requirements into production-ready solutions across development, QA, and UAT environments.

Required Skills & Experience

• 3+ years of hands-on Appian development experience.

• Strong experience building and extending Appian Sites and applications.

• Proficiency with:

• Appian Interfaces

• Records

• Process Models

• Expression Rules

• Reports

• Task Routing

• Groups and Role-Based Access Control

• Demonstrated experience developing complex workflow and onboarding applications.

• Strong experience integrating Appian with external systems using REST, SOAP, Web APIs, and Connected Systems.

• Experience implementing secure authentication and authorization using SAML, OIDC, Auth0, Microsoft Entra ID, or comparable technologies.

• Experience integrating with Coupa, DocuSign, Malbek/ECLM, HCP/Supplier Master, or similar enterprise platforms.

• Experience working with enterprise platforms and third-party systems in an integration-heavy environment.

• Understanding of API integration patterns, asynchronous processing, retries, reconciliation, error handling, and auditability.

• Experience working across development, QA, UAT, and production environments.

• Experience designing secure handling for sensitive information, particularly ensuring raw banking data is collected and persisted in Coupa or another approved platform rather than stored in Appian.

• Able to implement status aggregation, exception handling, retries, reconciliation, audit history, and last-updated indicators across asynchronous enterprise integrations.

• Comfortable translating prioritized features into Appian stories, acceptance criteria, sprint estimates, test scenarios, and production-ready
