About LSAC

The Law School Admission Council (LSAC) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting the legal education community and helping individuals on their journey to law school. LSAC’s mission is to advance law and justice by promoting access, equity, and fairness in law school admission, to broaden the pathway into legal education, and to support law schools, law students, and the legal education community.

Best known for administering the Law School Admission Test (LSAT), LSAC also provides a wide range of services that assist both prospective students and law schools, including law school application processing, resources and guidance for candidates, data-driven tools, and detailed research into legal education trends. Each year, the organization processes academic credentials for approximately 80,000 law school applicants, provides admissions technology and critical information resources to both applicants and law schools, delivers educational programs and conferences for legal education professionals, publishes research, funds outreach initiatives, and offers comprehensive LSAT preparation tools and law school admissions guidance.

As a leader at the intersection of legal education, assessment, technology, inclusive excellence, and public policy, LSAC is actively transforming its business to strengthen and expand its impact across several key areas, including legal education technology and service solutions, law school admissions support, candidate assessment, credential processing, and resources and strategic support that help law schools advance access to legal education and the legal profession.

LSAC’s ongoing innovation and evolution to address new challenges and opportunities positions LSAC to continue serving as a trusted partner to law schools, aspiring legal professionals, and the broader legal education ecosystem.
