We’re an AI services firm that helps companies figure out where and how to use AI. We’ve bootstrapped Casper Studios to roughly 40 people, worked with 30+ clients, and done deals with some of the largest companies, PE funds, and model providers.
The reason comes down to how we work with clients. Before we build anything, we listen, understand the business, and help them figure out the highest-leverage way to get started on their AI journey.
We are hiring a UX/UI Designer who can plug into live build teams and move quickly. This position will take rough requirements and turn them into a clean, buildable interface within a short timeline. There will rarely be a perfect brief and a long runway. This role sits right next to engineers, owns the UX/UI surface end to end, and raises the bar on how our work looks and feels.
The engagement will begin as a flexible structure and can grow into something bigger as the work grows and we find fit. If this sounds good to you, we would love for you to apply.
Design and ship the UI/UX for AI products we build with clients, from core app flows to brand-new features
Work shoulder to shoulder with engineers in fast build cycles, turning rough requirements into usable product quickly
Own the full surface: information architecture, interaction design, and high-fidelity UI in Figma
Design for AI-native experiences, reading and review views, agent interactions, chat versus structured surfaces, and the states that come with probabilistic output
Jump across multiple product builds at once and keep quality high without slowing the team down
Translate messy stakeholder input into clear, shippable design, and know when to push back on scope
Establish lightweight design patterns and a reusable system so we stop redrawing the same things across projects
Own end-to-end user flows and information architecture for complex, data-dense products
Decide what to surface and what to hold back, apply progressive disclosure so users aren't buried under information-heavy AI output
A strong design portfolio, with real shipped software, not just concept work
Fluency in Figma and modern UI craft; you can go from wireframe to polished, buildable UI fast
Comfort designing for AI products and for requirements that shift as the product gets real
Ability to work directly with engineers and make pragmatic tradeoffs to get things shipped
Strong judgment on when something needs to be pixel-perfect and when it just needs to move
High agency, low ego, fast, and reliable under deadline, people trust you to run with things
Daily usage of AI tools in your design workflow
Experience building or maintaining a design system
Enough front-end familiarity to read code and tweak UI directly (e.g., Tailwind, simple component edits)
Range across multiple verticals such as finance, healthcare, or customer experience
Experience in HR tech (or a similarly complex, workflow-heavy B2B domain)
Someone from a large design org may be used to clean briefs, comfortable timelines, and a lot of processes. A pure visual designer may struggle with product ambiguity and engineering constraints. The right person is senior enough to have ownership and make good calls alone, but hands-on and fast enough to be in the weeds with engineers every day.
Have been an embedded or forward-deployed designer at an agency, studio, or startup and are used to plugging into a team and moving
Have shipped the UI for AI or data-heavy products and understand how those experiences differ from standard SaaS
Are a strong freelancer or contractor who likes variety and fast cycles across multiple builds
Have owned projects end to end and can point to what you shipped and why it worked
Are familiar with making information-dense B2B tools feel genuinely simple
You've designed AI-integrated products, ideally in HR tech
