Role Overview:

We're looking for a passionate, experienced UX Strategist to join our team and collaborate closely with our UX Team Lead. In this full-time role, based out of our Vancouver headquarters (with remote options depending on the candidate), you will lead UX research, design, and strategy efforts to ensure our digital projects meet user needs and exceed client expectations. You'll work cross-functionally with design, development, content, and QA teams to keep projects on scope and on schedule.

What you will do

  • Story Development: Translate research insights into actionable job stories or user stories.

  • Reporting & Recommendations: Assist in creating detailed reports and providing strategic recommendations.

  • Wireframing: Develop wireframes of varying fidelity based on project needs, ensuring they are user-focused and intuitive, balancing module and template decisions against project requirements, scope, and timeline.

  • Client Consultation: Guide clients through key UX decisions and trade-offs to ensure websites and platforms meet requirements, timelines, and budgets.

  • Validation: Conduct navigation tests, user tests, and card sorting exercises to validate design concepts.

  • Collaboration: Work closely with designers and developers to assess the feasibility of UX and IA decisions before the design phase begins.

  • Internal Alignment: Liaise with project managers and broader teams to ensure UX recommendations align with project scope and timelines.

  • Best Practices Consultation: Provide ongoing consultation on UX best practices throughout the design, development, and QA phases.

  • Industry Trends Leadership: Stay current on industry trends and help guide the broader team in adopting the latest UX methodologies.

  • Internal Meetings & Ideation: Participate in planning and design reviews, workshops, and brainstorming sessions.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in UX research, design, and strategy
  • Strong understanding of information architecture
  • Proficiency in Figma and user testing methodologies
  • Familiarity with Atomic Design principles, including components, modules, and templates
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including facilitation
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams
  • Up-to-date knowledge of UX industry trends and best practices
  • Experience working with large clients and managing complex projects
  • Knowledge of accessibility standards and SEO best practices

Who You Are

  • A thoughtful, empathic communicator who balances creative and analytical thinking
  • Proactively organized, with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously
  • Comfortable leading and supporting both internal and client-facing meetings and workshops
  • Able to work both collaboratively and independently
  • Deeply curious and energized by the work

Compensation & Benefits:

  • $70,000–$90,000 CAD annually, based on experience
  • Extended health and dental benefits
  • Opt-in Group RRSP
  • Opportunities for professional growth and development
  • A collaborative, innovative work environment
