It contributes directly to the implementation of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, placing gender equality and SDG 5 at the core.

In the Americas and the Caribbean, UN Women operates a regional office in Panama, ten country offices, one multicountry office in the Caribbean, and programmatic presence in eight additional countries. These require strengthened capacities, tools, and support for planning, monitoring, and reporting processes.

Under this context, the Strategic Planning, Monitoring and Reporting Analyst will provide technical and strategic support, working closely with the supervisor and support staff to strengthen capacities and ensure effective implementation of UN Women’s actions in in Regional Office (RO), MultiCountry Offices (MCOs), Country Offices (COs), and NonPhysical Presence (NPPs).  Within the analyst will provide specialized technical support in implementing resultsbased planning processes, ensuring coherent application of corporate accountability tools, and supporting the integration of gender equality and women’s empowerment into UNSDCF frameworks.

Scope of work :

1.Provide technical inputs of Strategic Planning, Results-Based Management, and Inter-Agency Coordination Support to UN Women Offices, UN Country Teams, and Non-Physical Presence Countries

  • Provide strategic guidance and technical advisory support on Strategic Planning and Results-Based Management (RBM) to United Nations Country Teams (UNCTs), UN Women Country Offices (COs), Multi Country Office (MCO) and Non-Physical Presence (NPP) countries across the region.
  • Support the integration of gender equality and women’s empowerment priorities into United Nations Sustainable Development Cooperation Frameworks (UNSDCFs), UN Women Strategic Notes (SNs), and related planning instruments.
  • Facilitate and provide technical inputs for the development and strengthening of Theories of Change, results frameworks, indicators, and RBM methodologies to ensure alignment with corporate standards and inter-agency commitments.
  • Facilitate knowledge-sharing and capacity-building initiatives on RBM and strategic planning for UN Women personnel and inter-agency partners, promoting the adoption of best practices and lessons learned across the region.

2.Provide quality assurance in planning, monitoring, and reporting of results in relation to national and regional objectives and UN Women’s Strategic Plan.

  • Ensure quality in strategic planning, monitoring, and reporting processes for the Regional Office (RO), Multi Country Office (MCO), Country Offices (COs), and Non-Physical Presence (NPP) countries across the region.
  • Provide technical support throughout the development, review, and amendment processes of Strategic Notes (SNs) and Work Plans (WPs), as well as their monitoring and reporting, in accordance with UN Women corporate policies, procedures, and guidance applicable to the Regional Office, Country Offices, and Non-Physical Presence (NPP) countries and RBM standards.
  • Coordinate and follow up on the review, monitoring, and reporting of regional work plans in close collaboration with the programmatic and operational units of the Regional Office.

3.Provide technical support as the regional focal point for the new results management system transition and its implementation 

  • Facilitate training, tools, and materials for RO/MCO/COs and NPPs to ensure the transition to UN Women’s new Results Management System (PRISM).
  • Strengthen capacities of RO/MCO/COs and NPPs in the planning, monitoring and reporting modules in PRISM and its adequate application.

4.Facilitate the development of tools and capacitybuilding for the presentation of results reports to internal audiences (Senior Management) and external audiences (Donors and others).

  • Develop tools, guidelines, and analytical products, and facilitate training to strengthen RBM and corporate planning, monitoring, and reporting processes.
  • Provide technical advice for regional office training within the Peer Support Group (PSG), focusing on planning, monitoring, and reporting.
  • Facilitate and support training in Monitoring and Report with a gender perspective for UNCTs in the region.
  • Contribute to corporate initiatives on strategic planning and RBM by providing technical inputs, good practices, and lessons learned at regional and global levels.
  • Support processes to ensure RO/MCO/COs and NPPs meet requirements and deadlines for reporting, including annual reports.
  • Identify relevant findings, conclusions, and recommendations from evaluations and incorporate them into corporate planning processes. 

5.Contribute to knowledge building and capacity development.

  • Identify and disseminate good practices, lessons learned and achieved results to foster continuous improvement and institutional learning.
  • Contribute to the development of tools for capacitybuilding, including training materials and packages.
  • Promote awareness and understanding of shared responsibility for planning, monitoring and reporting among all staff through communication, training, learning, and development activities.

Functional Competencies:

  • Programme formulation, implementation, monitoring and reporting skills

Education and Certification :

  • Master’s degree or equivalent in international cooperation, project management, or related fields; OR a bachelor’s degree plus two additional years of required experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree in administration, organizational communication, economics, or related social sciences (minimum requirement).

Experience:

  • At least 4 years of relevant work experience in development programme/project implementation, coordination, monitoring and reporting donor reporting and capacity building is required.
  • Experience in RBM and knowledge of UN Women’s results management platforms.
  • Experience in developing theories of change, results frameworks, logical frameworks, and indicators.
  • Experience delivering training on RBM and results management platforms.
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, etc.).
  • International experience is desirable

Languages :

  • Fluency in English and Spanish is required.
