Role Overview
The client is seeking a friendly, organised, and customer-focused Travel Consultant to help clients plan, book, and manage their travel arrangements. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys creating smooth travel experiences, providing excellent service, and working with clients, suppliers, and travel systems.
You will be responsible for understanding client needs, preparing travel options, managing bookings, and providing support before, during, and after travel.
Key Responsibilities
- Respond to client enquiries via phone, email, chat, or other communication channels.
Understand client travel preferences, budgets, dates, destinations, and special requests.
- Prepare quotes, itineraries, and travel options for flights, accommodation, tours, cruises, transfers, and packages.
- Manage bookings accurately using travel systems, supplier portals, CRMs, or internal tools.
- Prepare booking confirmations, invoices, travel documents, and itinerary details.
- Liaise with airlines, hotels, tour operators, cruise lines, and other suppliers.
- Assist clients with changes, cancellations, upgrades, special requests, or travel disruptions.
- Follow up with leads, quotes, and past clients to support bookings and repeat business.
- Maintain accurate client records, booking notes, and payment or ticketing deadlines.
Must-Have Requirements
- Experience in travel consulting, customer service, sales support, or a similar client-facing role.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to manage multiple bookings, enquiries, and deadlines.
- Confident using booking systems, CRMs, supplier portals, or administrative tools.
- Friendly, proactive, and professional approach to client service.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to stay calm under pressure.
Nice-to-Have Requirements
- Experience in a travel agency, airline, tour operator, cruise, or hospitality environment.
- Familiarity with GDS platforms such as Sabre, Amadeus, or Galileo.
- Knowledge of travel products, destinations, visas, travel insurance, or customised itineraries.
- Sales experience or the ability to convert enquiries into bookings.
