Good Samaritan is an affiliate of Sanford Health. We have primarily an in-house therapy model that covers multiple services lines with a leadership team that includes clinical and operational expertise. The Clinical Specialist role works collaboratively as part of the clinical team and has opportunities to partner with operational colleagues and clinicians within assigned regions. This role includes responsibilities with the development of clinical content; assists in maintaining clinical compliance; has knowledge of CMS regulations and applicable updates. The Clinical Specialist helps develop and maintain EMR's utilized for service line documentation of care delivery; completes policy review and provides updates as warranted; reviews billing and coding as well as intermittently assist in denial management. In addition, this role retains contractual relationships with universities and assists with student placement. Support is provided for senior therapists and clinicians throughout the regions assigned.

objectives within a designated region, promoting best practices, quality outcomes and a consistent standard of
care.

Job Description

The clinical specialist is responsible for the clinical functions that support the goals of the Therapy and
Rehabilitation Enterprise. This role ensure compliance with federal and state regulations and state-specific
practice acts within a designated region.
Works directly with operational leaders to support key performance metrics and advance strategic initiatives.
Collaborates to identify opportunities for improvement, align clinical practices with organizational goals, and
drive measurable outcomes across assigned locations.
Serves as a subject matter expert; works collaboratively as part of clinical team providing consultation and
guidance related to clinical interventions and best practice.
Develops training and resources and implements programming that promotes clinical growth, competency, and
regulatory compliance across multiple service lines including skilled nursing, home health and outpatient
services.
Supports field staff professional growth and development and is responsible for the Senior Therapist program.
Monitors federal and state regulatory updates, evaluates their impact on therapy practice, and ensures timely
communication and education to staff.
Collaborates with other departments to ensure regulatory compliance, facilitate risk reduction, develop training
resources and support Good Samaritan initiatives.
Coordinates and oversees student placement, ensuring appropriate support, supervision, and monitoring
throughout the clinical rotation.
Reviews billing and coding and assists with denials management.
Completes policy review and provides updates as warranted.
Supports electronic medical record (EMR) management and develops EMR-specific resources to enhance
documentation accuracy, compliance and work flow efficiency.

Qualifications

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Appropriate education level required in accordance with state licensure.

Five years of experience in therapy and rehabilitation, with 2 years in a
leadership role.

Requires current licensure as an Occupational, Physical, or Speech Therapist in
state or residence. When applicable, may require valid driver's license.
