Test Engineer III

SUMMARY

Senior-level hybrid technical role responsible for testing, sustaining, securing, and optimizing application information supporting Navy readiness, training, and analytics systems. Lead automated testing efforts for integrated web-based learning platforms operating in hybrid environments. Responsible for planning, designing, executing, and maintaining automated test frameworks that validate software functionality, performance, and security compliance across CI/CD pipelines, cloud-based, and DoD networks.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

· Develop and execute automated test scripts using tools such as Selenium, Cypress, or Playwright for complex web applications.

· Design and manage test frameworks integrated into CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, GitLab CI, or AWS CodePipeline.

· Align automated test planning with acceptance criteria defined in Agile sprints and link to the Requirements Traceability Verification Matrix (RTVM).

· Collaborate closely with Systems Engineers, Software Developers, and Cybersecurity staff to ensure full test coverage, including for Section 508 compliance.

· Develop test scenarios for performance, security, integration, and regression testing using tools such as JMeter or LoadRunner.

· Document and maintain test cases, procedures, results, and metrics aligned with contract deliverables.

· Analyze test results, troubleshoot failures, and participate in root cause analysis.

· Support defect tracking, resolution, and retesting through Jira or equivalent agile tracking tools.

· Maintain and tune test environments to mirror production and support RPOC onboarding and certification activities.

· Participate in IPTs, sprint planning, and stakeholder demonstrations to provide testing insights and recommendations.

· May support the Rating Career Domain Continuum (RCDC) Task Order under the Navy's Learning Stack program.

· Maintain regular and punctual attendance.

· Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

· Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related discipline. Master’s degree preferred.

· Minimum of five (5) years of experience in automated testing and validation of enterprise applications.

· Proven experience in test scripting, framework maintenance, and CI/CD integration.

· Strong working knowledge of DevSecOps, agile testing methodologies, and test data management.

· Familiarity with RMF and DoD cybersecurity requirements, including secure coding and vulnerability scanning.

· Experience with version control (Git), agile boards (Jira), and documentation platforms (Confluence).

· Proficiency in JavaScript, Python, or Java-based testing frameworks.

· CompTIA Security+ or equivalent CSWF certification.

· Must meet DoD 8570 requirements for IAT II or higher (Security+, CySA+, CASP+, etc.).

· Active DoD Secret security clearance (generally, U.S. citizenship required).

· Must obtain and maintain any necessary security access and/or background checks

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS

· Demonstrated experience implementing test automation in Agile DevSecOps environments, with a strong understanding of requirements traceability, software assurance, and test-driven development principles and system capabilities for the FTM Support system.

· Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

· Experience supporting Department of War or comparable federal agency or systems.

· Experience supporting Navy training systems, readiness systems, or enterprise data platforms.

· Experience supporting testing across AWS GovCloud, DevSecOps environments, or DoD-approved cloud environments.

· Experience testing REST APIs and microservices using Postman or equivalent.

· Knowledge of FIPS 140-2 encryption standards and integration of test logging with SIEM tools (Splunk, Solar Winds, Varonis, Red Hat Certificate System or similar).

· Experience supporting training materials development or technical demonstrations is highly desirable.

· Familiarity with Kubernetes/OpenShift; cloud platforms (AWS GovCloud/Azure IL).

Full-time. May be required to work additional hours as needed to complete assignment or project.

Work is expected to be remote; however, the company reserves the right to require onsite work.

Position consists of sitting for long periods of time, bending, stooping, crouching, and lifting weights up to 20 pounds. Frequently uses hands/fingers for manipulation of keyboard and mouse. Compensation & Benefits:

• Pay: $115,000-$125,000 annually
