The Test Developer will write and review assessment items for English Learners and Multilingual Learners while overseeing item pool development. They will lead educator content review meetings, rubric validation, and standard setting sessions across various assessment projects.

Job Overview:
Someone in the role of Test Developer II has demonstrated strong item writing and reviewing skills, grade/grade-band lead skills, and may have multiple years as a teaching professional. A Test Developer II has significant content expertise and is able to lead expert educator content reviews. This position is focusing on individuals whose primary experience is with English Learners/Multilingual Learners.
Job Responsibilities:
Uses state item specifications to write effective items for multiple projects, including, but not limited to, ELP assessments.
Works under the direction of an overall project content lead to oversee item pool development for a state or consortia of states.
Leads group reviews and independently conducts preliminary, content review 1 across all projects, and will conduct senior reviews for all ELP assessment projects.
Leads educator content review meetings, rubric validation meetings, range finding meetings, and data review meetings, across projects with a focus on ELP assessment projects
Participates in standard setting meetings as a content expert
Leads item development for content area of a project/projects
Writes blueprints and translates them into an item pool development plan, with supervision
Has increasingly independent client interactions
Job Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in teaching English as a second language, bilingual education, or applied linguistics + 5-8 years' experience or a Master’s degree + 1-4 years’ experience
Minimum of 4 years’ experience teaching ELs/MLLs and/or developing content in an Educational Assessment environment
Strong knowledge and experience with the U.S. Education system and Educational Assessment, including state and federal requirements related to the screening and annual assessment of ELs/MLLs in K-12 education, is preferred
Current knowledge of trends, practices, and research related to language acquisition, including knowledge related to designing assessments to the four domains, is highly preferred.

Required travel for this position ranges from 1 week to 8 trips per year
