Test Automation lead

About the role

As a Test Automation Lead, you will make an impact by driving end-to-end test planning, execution, and automation strategy to ensure high-quality software delivery. You will be a valued member of the Quality Engineering and Assurance team and work collaboratively with stakeholders, developers, and business analysts to deliver robust testing solutions.

In this role, you will:

• Collaborate with stakeholders to understand project requirements and define testing scope.
• Develop comprehensive test strategies and plans, including test types, priorities, and timelines.
• Create detailed test cases and scenarios based on user stories and functional specifications.
• Develop automation scripts using Gherkin/Cucumber BDD frameworks.
• Assign test cases to team members and monitor test execution progress.
• Review test results, identify defects, and log them with clear reproduction steps.
• Manage test environments and test data.
• Conduct test reviews to ensure adherence to quality standards.
• Track and prioritize defects to ensure timely resolution.
• Generate comprehensive test reports summarizing results, metrics, and issues.

What you need to have to be considered

• Proven experience in test planning, strategy, and execution.
• Strong knowledge of test case design and defect management.
• Hands-on experience with Gherkin/Cucumber BDD automation frameworks.
• Familiarity with defect tracking systems and test management tools.
• Ability to manage test environments and data effectively.

These will help you stand out

• Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.
• Exposure to CI/CD pipelines and integration of automated tests.
• Experience with cloud-based testing environments.
• ISTQB or equivalent certification.

Salary and Other Compensation:

Applications will be accepted until 10/30/2025.

The annual salary for this position is between [$53,477– $92,500] depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.

This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant’s applicable plans.
