Timken Gears and Services, Philadelphia Gear brand, is seeking a Territory Account Specialist to cover commercial growth across Argentina, Chile, Uruguay, Paraguay, and Southern Brazil. The incumbent will manage and develop an existing network of regional representatives, expand dealer coverage, and grow sales of gearbox repairs, spare parts, new units, and drivetrains. This role requires a seasoned, technically-minded sales leader who balances field selling, channel management, financial accountability, and strategic market development.

 

Essential Responsibilities

  • Achieve territory sales, margin, and profitability targets across product and service lines (repairs, parts, new gear units, drivetrains).
  • Manage, coach, and develop the existing network of regional representatives and dealers; recruit and establish dealer networks in new markets.
  • Conduct proactive account management and field visits to identify opportunities, assess customer needs, and convert specifications into profitable sales.
  • Lead joint sales calls and support closing of large/complex orders; act as primary escalated resource for technical and commercial inquiries.
  • Prepare and maintain accurate forecasts, pipeline reports, and territory financials; monitor performance and implement corrective actions as needed.
  • Provide product and sales training to representatives; document performance and take corrective or disciplinary actions when required.
  • Coordinate cross-functional resources (engineering, service, logistics, finance) to ensure timely delivery and high customer satisfaction.
  • Represent Philadelphia Gear at customer meetings, trade events, and industry forums; monitor market trends and competitor activity.
  • Operate with high autonomy while ensuring compliance with company policies and approvals.

Basic Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required; Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business, manufacturing or related field preferred.
  • Minimum 15 years of industrial sales experience, with substantial experience in power transmission, gearboxes, or related drivetrain products/services.
  • Proven track record of territory management, distributor/dealer channel leadership, and meeting/exceeding sales and profitability targets.
  • Mechanical aptitude and general industrial knowledge; able to discuss technical specifications with engineering and maintenance teams.
  • Previous management or leadership experience with remote teams or representative networks preferred.
  • Strong computer proficiency (MS365/Microsoft Office) and experience with CRM systems.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Willingness and ability to travel regionally (~60%).
  • Residence in the Southern Cone region required (Argentina, Chile, Uruguay, Paraguay, southern Brazil). No relocation offered.
  • Fluency in Spanish and Portuguese; professional English proficiency.
