Technical Writers at Optum Global Solutions don’t just document products. They shape how customers understand, adopt, and succeed with them.
As a Technical Writer, you will own and drive content for key product areas, designing scalable, high-impact content across products and help experiences. You’ll work closely with product managers, engineers, UX designers, and other writers to ensure customers get the right information, in the right context, at the right time.
We are evolving from traditional documentation to structured authoring (DITA/XML), alongside AI-assisted content workflows. This role is ideal for someone who can create scalable, high-quality content, contribute to product decisions, and improve how content works across product and AI-driven environments.
The Technical Writing Team at Optum Global Solutions plays a pivotal role in creating, managing, and delivering high-quality technical documentation across software domains. As a Technical Writer II, you will drive documentation efforts, particularly in software documentation, ensuring clarity, accuracy, and alignment with business and user goals.
You’ll collaborate with cross-functional teams—developers, product managers, and subject matter experts—to transform complex technical concepts into accessible, engaging, and structured content. This role requires technical depth, strong editorial skills, and a forward-thinking approach to content strategy, information architecture, and AI-assisted documentation.

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). No matter where or when you begin a career with us, you’ll find a far-reaching choice of benefits and incentives. The salary for this role will range from $72,800 to $130,000 annually based on full-time employment. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
