How can you make an impact?

The Web and eCommerce Technical Product Manager will be responsible for gathering business requirements, analyzing workflows and business processes, prioritizing team(s) backlog, and writing user stories and functional specifications. The TPM serves as product owner and scrum master for their team(s). The TPM is a self‐directed team member with a demonstrated ability to effectively work across multiple teams, products, and/or platforms.

 

This is a remote position open to applicants authorized to work for any employer within the United States.

 

What you will do:

  • Serve as product owner for the engineering team that supports many of our internal and customer-facing applications, specifically related to login, registration, and eCommerce.
  • Assume the role of scrum master for the team by leading scrum ceremonies to maximize team productivity, help resolve blockers and dependencies, and enable sizing of work and task breakdown. 
  • Partner with engineers, user experience designers, TPMs, and business product managers to gather requirements. 
  • Draft agile epics and stories; maintain backlog with high-quality stories, acceptance criteria, and clear priorities.
  • Ensure delivery timelines and scope are well understood by team members, stakeholders, and dependent teams.  
  • Manage defect triage and resolution in partnership with product managers, business partners, and customer support teams. 

 

We’re looking for someone who has:

  • A bachelor's degree
  • 3+ years relevant experience
  • Experience solving a wide range of customer-facing and internal problems with software engineering teams
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with an emphasis on clarity to reduce potential misunderstandings
  • Empathy for customers, both internal and external 
  • Ability to learn new tools and systems quickly
  • Strong leadership skills, demonstrated by experience at work or outside of work
  • Strong technical aptitude, ideally demonstrated by experience with technical tools, databases, and/or courses in STEM
  • Experience with Agile development and an understanding of the software development life cycle
  • Ability to build positive professional relationships, manage dependencies across teams, and distill information for technical and business audiences 
  • Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently in a fast-paced, autonomous environment
  • Scrum Master Certification and/or 1+ year experience as a scrum master (preferred)
  • Product Owner Certification and/or 1+ year experience as a product owner (preferred)
  • Experience creating clear, detailed tickets in a system like Jira or Salesforce (preferred)
  • Understanding of accessibility best practices and/or desire to learn quickly (preferred)
  • Work experience in the field of education or EdTech (preferred)
  • Technical acumen with Excel, PPT, and image editing / manipulation to create UX mockups (preferred)

The pay range for this position is between $90,000 - $115,000 annually. However, base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and location.
