CTG is seeking to fill a Technical Engineer III opening for our client.

 

Location: Remote

Duration: 12 months

 

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, implement, and maintain secure, scalable cloud and network infrastructure across Microsoft Azure and Amazon Web Services (AWS).
  • Develop and maintain network automation solutions using Terraform, Ansible, Python, and Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) practices.
  • Design and support Azure networking services, including VNets, Virtual WAN, ExpressRoute, Private Endpoints, Azure Firewall, Load Balancers, Application Gateway, Private DNS, and Network Security Groups.
  • Design and support AWS networking services, including VPCs, Transit Gateway, Direct Connect, Route 53, Network Load Balancers, Application Load Balancers, Network Firewall, Security Groups, and NACLs.
  • Implement and troubleshoot advanced routing protocols, including BGP and OSPF.
  • Design and maintain public and private DNS architectures using Azure Private DNS, AWS Route 53, and Infoblox.
  • Develop and maintain secure network segmentation and micro-segmentation strategies using technologies such as Aviatrix, NSGs, and distributed firewall policies.
  • Manage and troubleshoot enterprise firewall technologies, including Palo Alto Networks and Check Point.
  • Design and support secure hybrid-cloud connectivity between on-premises data centers and cloud environments.
  • Automate infrastructure provisioning, configuration, testing, and operational processes through Terraform, Ansible, Python, APIs, and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Collaborate with Technology management, senior engineers, architects, support teams, and business partners to define requirements and deliver technical solutions.
  • Troubleshoot complex cloud, network, connectivity, DNS, routing, and security issues across enterprise environments.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation, architecture diagrams, standards, procedures, and operational support documentation.
  • Monitor network and cloud environments using tools such as Azure Monitor, AWS CloudWatch, Dynatrace, and other observability platforms.
  • Support network automation initiatives and source-of-truth platforms such as Nautobot and NetBox.
  • Promote industry best practices, standards, automation, security, and operational consistency.
  • Mentor and coach less experienced engineers, technicians, and integrators as appropriate.
  • Identify and escalate technical, operational, security, and risk-related issues to management.
  • Complete other related duties as assigned.

Scope of Responsibilities:

  • Serve as an advanced technologist responsible for cloud and network automation engineering across complex enterprise environments.
  • Translate complex business and technical requirements into scalable, secure, and highly automated infrastructure solutions.
  • Provide technical expertise across multi-cloud networking, routing, DNS, firewalls, segmentation, Infrastructure as Code, and network programmability.
  • Participate in infrastructure design, implementation, testing, troubleshooting, documentation, and continuous improvement.
  • Support cloud adoption, transformation, enterprise data center migration, and network modernization initiatives.
  • Work independently on complex technical assignments while collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Maintain awareness of emerging cloud, networking, automation, and security technologies and recommend improvements where appropriate.

Supervisory/Managerial Responsibilities:

  • May mentor and provide technical guidance to less experienced engineers and technical staff.
  • Review technical documentation, proposed solutions, implementations, and changes developed by less experienced team members.
  • Coordinate with vendors and vendor resources as required.
  • This position does not have direct supervisory responsibility.

Education and Experience Required:

  • Minimum of 6 years of combined higher education and/or professional experience in systems engineering, network engineering, infrastructure design, cloud technologies, automation, or related areas.
  • Minimum 6 years of professional experience in technical engineering involving infrastructure design, network technologies, systems integration, or complex application environments.
  • Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure and AWS networking.
  • Advanced knowledge of networking concepts, including routing, DNS, firewalls, network segmentation, and hybrid-cloud connectivity.
  • Demonstrated experience with Terraform and Infrastructure as Code.
  • Experience with Ansible and Python automation.
  • Experience troubleshooting complex enterprise network and cloud environments.
  • Advanced technical, analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to translate complex technical and business requirements into high-quality technical solutions.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Education and Experience Preferred:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Experience designing secure multi-cloud architectures across Azure and AWS.
  • Experience with Azure VNet, ExpressRoute, Private Endpoints, Azure Firewall, Virtual WAN, Application Gateway, and Private DNS.
  • Experience with AWS VPC, Transit Gateway, Direct Connect, Route 53, AWS Network Firewall, and load balancing technologies.
  • Advanced experience with BGP and OSPF.
  • Experience with Infoblox DNS/IPAM and GSLB or traffic management solutions.
  • Experience with Palo Alto Networks and Check Point firewalls.
  • Experience with Aviatrix and enterprise network segmentation or micro-segmentation.
  • Experience with Git, GitHub, GitLab, CI/CD pipelines, and API integrations.
  • Experience with Nautobot, NetBox, or other source-of-truth platforms.
  • Experience with Azure Monitor, AWS CloudWatch, Dynatrace, logging, and observability solutions.
  • Experience supporting enterprise data center migrations, cloud adoption, cloud transformation, and network automation initiatives.
  • Relevant cloud or networking certifications are a plus.
  • Strong ability to facilitate requirements discussions with technical and business stakeholders.
  • Ability to adapt quickly and learn new technologies in a fast-paced environment.

The expected base salary for this position ranges from $46.64 - $77.74/hour. Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including relevant skills, training, experience, education, market factors, and where applicable, licensure or certifications obtained. In addition to salary, a competitive benefit package is also offered.
