Team Lead, Application Development

The Team Lead, Application Development will be responsible for overseeing the software development process from start to finish, ensuring that the team follows procedures and delivers high-quality software within set timelines and budget across people, process, and technology. The Team Lead will also be responsible for leading a high-performing team that includes developers, architects, and quality personnel. The ideal candidate should have a deep understanding of all parts of software development while also having the ability to run each part efficiently. Technical skills such as past coding in database, Java, or .NET/C# are preferred, but the most important requirement is the ability to get the job done and delegate tasks when necessary.

 Job Requirements:

• Be accountable for the team’s execution and delivery outcomes from work intake through production, ensuring the team follows appropriate processes and delivers reliable, high-quality software within established timelines and budget.
• Own team-level Agile execution and Scrum Master responsibilities, including facilitating team Agile Ceremonies (e.g. including but not limited to Daily Standups, Sprint Planning, Sprint Review, and Sprint Retrospectives) supporting healthy workflow, removing impediments, promoting continuous improvement, and reinforcing effective Agile practices.
• Manage a team of developers, architects, and quality personnel, ensuring that each team member meets their individual goals and contributes to the success of the team as a whole.
• Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement within the team.
• Partner with the Product Owner and other stakeholders to translate priorities into executable team plans, align scope and sequencing, maintain a healthy and ready backlog, and establish realistic delivery expectations. Monitor project progress and make adjustments as necessary to ensure successful delivery.
• Identify and mitigate risks to project delivery.
• Ensure code reviews and development best practices/standards are being followed.
• Stay up-to-date with the latest trends and technologies in software development.
• Discover training needs and provide guidance/mentorship to team members as needed.
• Seek and act upon Customer/Product feedback.
• Maintain safety, security, and privacy standards throughout all areas of responsibility.

Knowledge

• Knowledge of application development, IT operations, finance, and other corporate systems.
• Experience with Agile development methodologies strongly preferred. 

Skills 

• Proficient in Microsoft Office products, including but not limited to: Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, and Visio. 
• Strong experience in software development frameworks such as Agile, Scrum, and Kanban.
• Experience with cloud-based technologies, automation, webservices, and containers is a plus.

Other Essential Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or a related field.
• 3+ years of experience in software development total, with at least 2 years of experience in a senior or lead role.

The annual base salary range for this position is $130,000 - $170,000. This range represents RouteOne's good faith estimate of compensation at the time of posting.

Actual compensation will be determined based on scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, and skill set, as well as market and business considerations. In addition to base salary, this position is eligible for performance-based bonuses.
