T&D Engineering Quality Control Mnger

We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Transmission & Distribution (T&D) Engineer Quality Control Manager to support utility infrastructure projects across transmission lines, distribution systems, and substations. This role will provide engineering expertise, project support, quality control, training, and client relationship management while collaborating with internal teams, utility companies, and external engineering partners.

The ideal candidate will possess strong technical knowledge of T&D engineering, experience with PLS software suites, and the ability to provide leadership and mentorship across multiple projects.

Key Responsibilities

Engineering & Technical Support

• Support all Transmission Line, Distribution, and Substation projects.
• Utilize and operate PLS software suites to support engineering design and analysis activities.
• Perform transmission and distribution engineering work, including system design, modifications, upgrades, and project development.
• Provide engineering support for both overhead and underground (UG) utility systems.
• Assist with new business applications and utility service requests.
• Support line-related activities involving various electric utility companies, including but not limited to PG&E and other utility providers.
• Provide procurement and construction support services throughout project lifecycles.
• Serve as a technical consultant to engineering firms and project stakeholders as required.
• Attend and actively participate in internal and external project meetings related to transmission and distribution activities.
• Provide specialized technical expertise on projects requiring advanced engineering knowledge.
• Conduct quality control reviews of T&D project packages to ensure compliance with client, industry, and company standards.

Training, Mentoring & Collaboration

• Deliver remote training and mentorship to junior engineers and engineering staff.
• Support the professional development of engineering personnel through coaching and technical guidance.
• Assist Cal/DRG leadership in strengthening relationships with utility clients and strategic vendor partners.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure successful project execution and client satisfaction.

Qualifications Required

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
• Experience in Transmission & Distribution engineering projects.
• Working knowledge of PLS software suites (PLS-CADD, PLS-POLE, PLS-TOWER, or similar).
• Experience with utility design standards and engineering practices.
• Strong understanding of overhead and underground utility systems.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently while managing multiple projects and priorities.

Preferred

• Professional Engineer (PE) license.
• Experience supporting major utility companies.
• Knowledge of utility procurement and construction processes.
• Previous experience providing technical training and mentoring.
• Consulting or client-facing experience.
