Job Title: Systems Engineer - Test Analyst
Required Security Clearance: Secret
Level: Mid-Level
Job Description
This position’s primary role will be representing the SE&IT by supporting MDA/DE-SEA (Enterprise Analysis & Technical Innovation) and its role within the MDA Joint Analysis Team (JAT). In the test analyst role, the candidate will perform Missile Defense System (MDS) performance analysis of test data generated primarily by the MDA Ground Test (HWIL) program. The candidate may also support analysis of MDA Flight Test events, Real World Event data, and Golden Dome for America (GDA) tests. The role includes developing approaches and tools to support executing System-level and Element-level performance analysis on the complex MDS, and producing analysis results and inputs to the official SEA test report products. In addition, analysts often present their finding during mission data reviews. The engineer will be responsible for working with associated Systems Engineering (SE) teams, Test Organizations, Warfighters and Element Program focals to ensure MDS tests meet technical intent, assess system capabilities, and characterize behaviors. In this role, the candidate will develop, utilize and present analytical products with the intent of assessing strategic and/or theater/regional element system level performance of the MDS in ground test and flight test events. SEA performs analysis on all elements of the MDS, with a focus on System-Level behaviors.
Individual must have knowledge of analytical approaches and demonstrated analytical skills and discipline. Proficiency in using analytical tools that assess the system level performance of the MDS kill chain including sensor acquisition, tracking, and discrimination; battle manager engagement planning, warfighter interaction, and engagement coordination with other MDS systems; and interceptor acquisition, tracking, and discrimination. Must be able to work independently as well as part of a geographically distributed team. SEA also values demonstrated capabilities in data scientist positions and the ability to develop tools to support analytical tasks and a desire to learn about MDS elements and the ability to apply an understanding of element behavior to a System-Level analytical perspective. The candidate will analyze performance of the MDS kill chain.
Required Qualifications
Degree and experience performing systems engineering test analysis for the Missile Defense System. Experience documenting and presenting analysis findings.
Secret clearance is minimum requirement, with higher clearance preferable.
Desired Qualifications
Strong systems engineering or MDS analysis background and demonstrated collaboration and presentation skills are desired. System level interface design and specification development experience is desired. Additionally, knowledge of the Missile Defense System (MDS), a working knowledge of SQL, PostgreSQL, Python, Jupyter Notebooks, Tableau or similar analytical tools, system analysis, and system level testing are desired.
Education
Degree and experience in an engineering classification, mathematics or physics: Bachelor’s, Master’s or PhD. Candidates with strong systems engineering or MDS analysis background and demonstrated collaboration and presentation skills are desired.
