Position Summary

Eaton is seeking a Senior Systems Architect – IT Module to join the Data Center Architecture Team.

This senior technical leadership role will define and drive the architecture of the data center IT Module (white space), including high-density power distribution, cooling integration, rack infrastructure, modular deployment strategies, and pod-level system design. The position serves as the primary systems integrator across white space components, ensuring scalable, repeatable, and optimized designs that enable rapid deployment of compute capacity for hyperscale, colocation, enterprise, and next-generation AI data centers.

As a key member of the Data Center Architecture Team, you will help develop end-to-end reference architectures and collaborate directly with customers to shape future data center solutions.

Technical Expertise

  • Proven experience leading large-scale, mission-critical power architectures from concept through deployment.
  • Technical;
    • Medium-voltage and low-voltage electrical distribution
    • UPS systems
    • Energy storage
    • Power electronics
    • AC and DC power architectures
    • Protective coordination
    • Switchgear and busway systems
  • Knowledge of emerging high-voltage DC architectures and future power distribution technologies.

Leadership & Influence

  • Ability to communicate complex technical concepts to executive, engineering, and operational audiences.
  • Experience leading cross-functional teams in matrixed organizations.
  • Demonstrated success mentoring engineers and influencing technical direction.

Customer-Focused Innovation

  • Strong customer-facing experience working with enterprise or hyperscale data center operators.
  • Ability to incorporate customer requirements into product roadmaps and solution architectures.
  • Proven ability to develop white papers, technical publications, and thought leadership content.

Continuous Improvement

  • Experience applying Lean, Six Sigma, or DMAIC methodologies.
  • Familiarity with Agile, Scrum, and traditional project management methodologies.

Requirements:

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or a related technical discipline.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience within the data center industry.
  • Experience spanning multiple data center domains.

Location & Travel

  • Remote within the United States.
  • Up to 75% travel required.

The expected annual salary range for this role is $198000 - $290000 a year.  This role is also eligible for a variable incentive program.
