Position Summary

Subcontracts Administrator - manages and oversees the entire lifecycle of subcontracts, from initial negotiation and award to close-out. Key responsibilities include drafting and negotiating agreements, monitoring subcontractor performance for compliance with contractual terms, and ensuring adherence to company policies and legal requirements. The role requires strong communication, negotiation, and organizational skills.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Preparing Bid Packages and RFPs: Drafting and issuing requests for proposals (RFPs), requests for quotes (RFQs), and bid packages to potential subcontractors to ensure competition and compliance with federal requirements.
  • Proposal Evaluation: Analyzing and evaluating subcontractor proposals to assess compliance with RFP requirements, price/cost reasonableness, and technical specifications.
  • Negotiation: Leading negotiations for subcontract provisions, terms and conditions, price, and schedule requirements.
  • Documentation and Administration: Preparing subcontract awards and modifications, and maintaining detailed, well-documented, and audit-ready electronic files in compliance with regulations.
  • Compliance and Risk Management: Ensuring adherence to relevant laws and regulations, such as the Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) and Defense Federal Acquisition Regulations Supplement (DFARS), while identifying and mitigating potential contractual risks.

Requirements

  • Education: A Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Contract Management, or a related field is often required.
  • Experience: 4 - 6 years of relevant experience in government contracting procurement or subcontracts administration.
  • Knowledge: Strong understanding of procurement processes, and government contracting regulations (e.g., FAR, DFARS).
  • Skills: Excellent negotiation, analytical, problem-solving, and communication (written and verbal) skills are essential.
  • Technical Proficiency: Familiarity with contract management software, ERP systems (like SAP or Costpoint), and Microsoft Office Suite is required.
  • Clearance: Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance.

Salary at MAG Aerospace is determined by various factors including but not limited to location, the particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $70,000 to $90,000 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of MAG's total compensation package for employees.
