Strategic Program Director, Global Housing

Overview of Position
Assurant Global Housing is seeking a strategic, action-oriented program leader to turn critical business priorities into measurable results. In this highly visible, role, you will lead a portfolio of initiatives that advance scalability, automation, operational performance, and profitability. You will bring structure to complex work, create transparency through disciplined governance and reporting, and build the cross-functional alignment needed to move high-impact programs from idea to execution.

What will be my duties and responsibilities in this job?

• Identify, assess, and prioritize business initiatives based on strategic value, effort, risk, scalability, and profit impact.

• Lead end-to-end planning and execution across multiple initiatives, programs, projects, and workstreams, from intake and approval through delivery and closeout.

• Establish practical governance through roadmaps, schedules, dashboards, status reporting, action logs, risk and issue management, project documentation, and executive updates.

• Align leaders, cross-functional teams, and internal or external project resources around objectives, responsibilities, budgets, timelines, and decisions; resolve barriers and sustain momentum.

• Turn complex, time-sensitive information into clear recommendations and actions while identifying trends, streamlining opportunities, and improvements to program and project management practices.

What are the requirements needed for this position?

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or a related field (or relevant experience)

• 5+ years of project management experience, including ownership of concurrent initiatives or complex cross-functional work.

• Experience leading project resources or direct reports and guiding teams through ambiguity, competing priorities, and organizational change.

• Demonstrated ability to drive cross-functional consensus, create urgency, analyze complex information, make sound decisions, and influence stakeholders at multiple levels.

• Strong project and program management, communication, facilitation, negotiation, and relationship-building skills, with proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, and Visio.

What other skills/experience would be helpful to have?

• Insurance or underwriting experience.

• Experience with Agile development processes.

• Portfolio management expertise and experience delivering work for large internal or external stakeholders.

• Proficiency in PMI methodology or a PMP certification.

• Deep expertise in a business function relevant to the portfolio.

How much should I expect to travel?
Up to 20% travel annually, as projects or business needs may require.

Pay Range:

Any posted pay range considers a wide range of compensation factors, including candidate background, experience and work location, while also allowing for salary growth within the position.
