It's never been easier to produce large volumes of documentation, and it's never been more critical to have high-quality documentation. As a member of the Documentation team at Unity, you will be responsible for information quality. 

In this role, you will gain a deep technical understanding of Unity products by working closely with engineering teams and the technologies themselves. You will apply that understanding and your writing skills to create content that explains and inspires. You will also collaborate with other writers to build a consistent and cohesive content experience across products, to build standards for coverage and style, to learn from one another, and to elevate writing at Unity. 

What you’ll be doing 

• Create, review, and improve AI-assisted drafts of sets of technical content (user and developer guides, API references, SDKs, code samples) for multiple products and features

• Contribute to content strategy for complex content sets 

• Partner with product managers and engineers to understand each feature’s underlying technology, target audience, and documentation needs

• Lead by example in ensuring that documentation is as clear, concise, accurate, and usable as possible 

• Advocate for users during feature development to enhance workflows and make products easier to use

What we’re looking for 

• Technical depth and hands-on experience with software development workflows and concepts

• The ability to distill sophisticated technical concepts into clear, easy-to-understand, user-focused documentation

• A successful track record delivering high-quality content in a fast-paced software development environment

• The ability to lead by example and provide guidance and coaching to less experienced writers. 

• The ability to manage your time well and work in a globally distributed team, maintaining active communication with partners across timezones

You might also have

• Experience with object-oriented programming languages, game development, digital artistry, or real-time 3D development

• Experience with source control software such as Github or Subversion to manage file changes across versions
  
  
   

  Base Salary Range: We determine the base salary range for this role based on your primary work location:
  
  UK

  Zone A: £49,000 - £73400 GBP gross
  Zone B: £53,000 - £79,400 GBP gross
  
  Canada
   

  Zone A: 84,200 - 126,200 CAD gross

  Zone B: 90,900 - 136,300 CAD gross

  
   

Cette fourchette correspond au salaire de base prévu pour ce poste. En plus du salaire de base, ce poste peut donner droit à des attributions d’actions et à une participation à nos programmes d’incitation de l’entreprise, comme des primes annuelles discrétionnaires ou des commissions de vente. Le montant final de l’offre dépendra de plusieurs facteurs, notamment l’emplacement géographique ainsi que l’expérience pertinente, le parcours professionnel et les compétences du/de la candidat(e).

This range reflects the anticipated base salary for this position. Beyond base salary, this role may be eligible for equity awards and participation in our company incentive plans (such as annual discretionary bonuses or sales commissions). The final offer amount will depend on several factors, including geographic location and the candidate’s relevant experience, professional background, and skill set.
