About the Role: 
UKG is seeking a Senior Director of Corporate Communications to shape and strengthen the company’s enterprise reputation—helping UKG navigate consequential business moments, build stakeholder trust, and raise the standard of communications across the enterprise. 

Reporting to the Chief Communications Officer, this leader will oversee Corporate Responsibility Communications, Crisis & Issues Management, M&A communications frameworks, and the Communications Center of Excellence (COE). Together, these capabilities provide the strategy, readiness, governance, and expertise UKG needs to communicate effectively across complex issues and opportunities. 

We’re looking for a trusted advisor and organization builder with exceptional judgment—someone who can counsel senior leaders, anticipate reputational implications, bring clarity to high-stakes situations, and build a high-performing Corporate Communications organization with impact across UKG. 

About the Role:

Strengthen Corporate Reputation & Readiness 

  • Serve as a trusted advisor to the CCO and senior executives on corporate reputation, sensitive issues, stakeholder implications, and consequential company decisions. 
  • Anticipate emerging reputation risks and opportunities, bringing an enterprise-wide perspective to how UKG prepares, responds, and communicates. 
  • Play a central leadership role in UKG’s crisis and issues communications framework, partnering with the External Communications VP and stakeholders across the company on readiness, scenarios, playbooks, escalation, and response. 
  • Provide communications frameworks and strategic expertise for M&A and other significant corporate events, flexing the operating model based on the needs and stakeholders of each situation. 

Lead Corporate Responsibility Communications 

  • Set and lead UKG’s corporate responsibility communications strategy, connecting the company’s commitments and priorities to business strategy, stakeholder expectations, and reputation.  
  • Partner with leaders across UKG to help shape and prioritize corporate responsibility issues and commitments, bringing a communications and reputation perspective to enterprise decisions.  
  • Build a clear, credible corporate responsibility narrative that connects UKG’s commitments to meaningful action, measurable impact, and the broader UKG story.  
  • Ensure UKG communicates progress and impact with transparency and credibility, strengthening trust and long-term stakeholder value. 

Build the Communications Center of Excellence 

  • Build and lead a Communications COE that raises the standard of communications across UKG through clear frameworks, governance, playbooks, tools, and best practices. 
  • Establish enterprise standards for narrative and messaging, communications planning, measurement, AI-enabled practices, and other foundational capabilities. 
  • Develop training, resources, and communities of practice that strengthen communications capabilities and enable teams to operate with greater consistency, judgment, and effectiveness. 
  • Partner across Communications and the broader business to drive adoption while creating enough flexibility for teams to meet distinct audience and business needs. 

Build Reputation Intelligence & Measurement 

  • Advance UKG’s approach to corporate reputation intelligence, helping the company understand stakeholder trust, emerging risks, corporate responsibility impact, and communications effectiveness. 
  • Establish measurement standards and frameworks through the COE that enable more consistent evaluation of communications performance across UKG. 
  • Partner with External Communications and other teams to connect corporate reputation intelligence with market-facing measurement and business priorities. 
  • Turn data and stakeholder signals into actionable insights that inform executive counsel, reputation strategy, and communications decisions. 

Build a High-Performing Corporate Communications Organization 

  • Build and lead a Corporate Communications organization known for exceptional judgment, strategic impact, and trusted partnership across UKG. 
  • Set a high bar for talent and performance—developing leaders, strengthening capabilities, creating clear accountability, and ensuring the right expertise is in place as the business evolves. 
  • Create an environment where people are empowered to make decisions, challenge thinking, and operate with the confidence and agility required in high-stakes communications. 
  • Lead through transformation with clarity and purpose, breaking down silos and building an enterprise-minded team that raises the standard for communications across UKG. 

Basic Qualifications: 

  • 12+ years of progressive experience in corporate communications, corporate affairs, reputation, crisis and issues management, corporate responsibility, or related disciplines, including significant leadership experience. 
  • Demonstrated success leading complex corporate communications programs and advising senior executives on high-stakes reputation and stakeholder matters. 
  • Deep expertise in corporate reputation, crisis/issues communications, executive counsel, and enterprise communications strategy. 
  • Proven experience building or transforming communications capabilities, including governance, standards, talent, tools, and ways of working. 
  • Strong business judgment and the ability to assess reputational and stakeholder implications of complex company decisions. 
  • Exceptional executive presence, written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to influence senior stakeholders across a highly matrixed organization. 
  • Demonstrated ability to build high-performing teams, develop talent, and lead effectively through ambiguity and change. 

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Significant experience in enterprise B2B SaaS, technology, or another complex technology-driven business. 
  • Experience leading or partnering on corporate responsibility strategy, crisis readiness, M&A communications, and/or enterprise communications COEs. 
  • Experience developing reputation intelligence and communications measurement frameworks. 
  • Strong understanding of AI and emerging technologies and their implications for corporate reputation, communications practices, and stakeholder expectations.

    The pay range for this position is $184,300 to $264,950 The actual base pay offered may vary depending on skills, experience, job-related knowledge and work location. In addition to base pay, employees may be eligible to participate in a performance-based bonus plan and to receive restricted stock unit awards as part of total compensation.
