About the Role

Hyland is looking for an experienced and forward-thinking Sr Data Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will lead the design and delivery of scalable data pipelines, develop end-to-end analytical solutions, and serve as a trusted advisor and thought leader within the data engineering practice. You'll work with large, complex datasets, apply machine learning expertise, and mentor fellow engineers — all while driving innovation and best practices across the team. Your Role Responsibilities? Here's What You'll Do.

  • Design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines to clean and transform data, ensuring it is ready for analysis and operational deployment from end to end.
  • Work with large datasets from diverse sources to enable valuable business insights and analytics, supporting data-driven decision making across the organization.
  • Evaluate team models and suggest enhancements as needed; promote best practices for modeling and develop scalable operational solutions aligned to business needs.
  • Ensure data storage and processing meet security standards and comply with relevant regulations; create and maintain thorough documentation for data pipelines, architectures, and processes.
  • Operate as a trusted advisor on issues and trends, providing consulting services that leverage deep expertise and best practice knowledge to guide strategic direction.
  • Operate as an innovative thought leader and mentor; contribute to the overall growth of the department through knowledge sharing, coaching, and providing feedback to team members and leadership on team capabilities.

  • Monitoring & Observability Tools (e.g., Datadog, Grafana, Prometheus)

Role Essentials

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience (5+years) with proven expertise in data engineering, including data warehouses and ETL processes.
  • Proficiency in SQL, Python, and at least one data processing framework (e.g., Spark, Flink, TensorFlow, PyTorch); experience in Data and ML Pipeline orchestration (e.g., Metaflow, MLFlow, AWS Glue).
  • Hands-on experience with AWS Data platforms including Terraform and Docker; ability to package and deploy code to production cloud environments.
  • Knowledge of machine learning concepts with experience applying them in real-world use cases, including the application of generative AI for business purposes.
  • Experience with monitoring and observability tools (e.g., Datadog, Grafana, Prometheus); knowledge of CI/CD tools; up to 5% travel time required.

Pay Transparency

Based on employment laws, the following details are provided to comply with relevant salary posting requirements: D.O.E.  base salary range of BRL R$214,061.00/Yr – BRL R$260,871.00/Yr

(=  $42K – $51K USD annually)

this position is eligible for benefits and variable compensation.
