Job Title:  Sr. Assessment Production Specialist - Graphics

 

Location:  Fully Remote (US)

 

 

What you’ll do: 

  

Working in Content Solutions/NWEA, the Sr. Assessment Production Specialist - Graphics will be responsible for the following primary duties:  

 

Graphic Design & Asset Development (30%)

  • Create and maintain high-quality technical art, graphics, illustrations, diagrams, and layouts for assessment items and related materials.
  • Develop technical artwork for mathematics, science, reading/language arts, and other content areas.
  • Create production-ready files using Adobe InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop.
  • Design templates, reusable graphic components, and standardized visual assets.
  • Ensure graphics meet quality, accessibility, and technical specifications for print and digital delivery.

Project Planning & Workflow Management (35%)

  • Develop and manage graphics production schedules aligned with item development, review, and test production timelines.
  • Coordinate graphics workflows across assessment development, editorial, production, and vendor teams.
  • Monitor project status, identify risks, and ensure timely delivery of graphic assets.
  • Establish and continuously improve graphics development and review workflows.
  • Serve as the central point of coordination for graphics-related work across programs.
  • Support scalable and future-ready graphics processes that enable asset reuse and efficient production.
  • Maintain process documentation and develop new documentation as needed. 

Graphics Governance & Asset Management (10%)

  • Own and maintain assessment graphics style guides, templates, and visual standards.
  • Ensure graphic design, layout, and formatting standards are implemented. 
  • Manage asset organization, metadata, naming conventions, version control, and archival practices.
  • Ensure graphics and related assets are discoverable, reusable, and maintained according to best practices.
  • Partner with system and content teams to support long-term asset management strategies.

Vendor & Contractor Management (25%)

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for graphic development vendors and contract graphic artists.
  • Communicate and train vendors on graphics requirements, specifications, timelines, and quality expectations.
  • Review vendor-created graphics and layouts for quality, consistency, and adherence to standards.
  • Coordinate feedback, revisions, approvals, and deliverables with vendors and internal stakeholders.
  • Monitor vendor performance and help optimize external graphic production capacity.

  

 

What you’ll need: 

 

·       Minimum 5 years of experience in graphic design, editorial design, educational publishing, or a related field.

·       Bachelor's Degree required/Associates Degree with demonstrated relevant experience

·       Advanced expertise in Adobe InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, and related design and production tools. 

·       Experience in graphic production and file preparation, Digital Asset Management and metadata, technical art production, and page layout.

·       Strong understanding of technical art, print production, prepress requirements, file preparation, workflow, asset management, and vendor management.

Benefits and Salary Range  

 

Salary Range – $75,000 to $85,000.  Our salary ranges are based on national averages.  We have wide ranges so we can be flexible and determine compensation based on a number of factors including the candidate’s skills, experience, education, and location.
