Job Summary:

Responsible for performing transactional processes and transactions of basic complexity.

Job Responsibilities:

• Processes billing transactions and enters them into a computerized system.
• Follows processes and performs transactions with a high degree of accuracy.
• Handles a larger volume of basic transactions.
• Helps run basic reports following routine processes.
• May assist more senior specialists in processing more complex transactions and work.
• Other responsibilities as judgement or necessity dictates.

External Basic Qualifications

• High school diploma from accredited school or equivalent GED; or equivalent combination of education and/or relevant work experience.

Preferred Qualifications

• Knowledge of collections processes
• Proficient skill level Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
• Strong attention to detail
• Commitment to excellent customer service
• Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
• Ability to prioritize and manager multiple responsibilities.
• Medical benefit versus pharmacy benefit billing.
• Specialty drug reimbursement and HCPCS/J-code billing.
• NDC billing, units of service, modifiers, and drug-specific reimbursement guidelines.
• Prior authorization and medical necessity requirements.
• Commercial payer plans, BlueCard, Medicare, and other medical insurance programs.
• High-dollar claim resolution, underpayments, recoupments, and complex denials.

An employee in this position can expect an hourly rate between $15.00 to $37.50. The actual salary will depend on experience, seniority, geographic location, and other factors permitted by law.
